Overview
The Attwood Marine 66318-7 is a deck-mount bi-color red/green navigation light for 12 VDC systems, built for power boats up to 39.4 ft. (12 m). It combines the port and starboard sidelight function in one compact housing and delivers 1 nautical mile visibility across a 225 degree arc.
The housing is 304 stainless steel, and the lens is sealed with rubber gaskets to help limit internal corrosion in wet bow areas. With a footprint of about 2-1/2 in. long, 2-1/4 in. wide, and 1-1/2 in. high, it suits boats that need a low-profile forward light without moving to a larger fixture or a separate port and starboard setup.
This is a serviceable incandescent light that runs on a single 7.5W lamp from a 12 VDC supply. It is a practical replacement for older bow lights on runabouts, center consoles, and small cruisers that already use traditional incandescent navigation lighting.
Key features
- 1 nautical mile visibility with 225 degree red/green coverage for power boats up to 39.4 ft. (12 m)
- 12 VDC incandescent setup with one 7.5W lamp included
- 304 stainless steel housing with rubber gasket lens seals to help reduce water intrusion around the lens
- Deck-mount body size of about 2-1/2 in. L x 2-1/4 in. W x 1-1/2 in. H
- Uses three #6 mounting fasteners; hardware is not included
- 7 in. wire leads for connection below the mounting surface
Compatibility and fit
This light fits boats that use a combined red/green sidelight at the bow instead of separate side fixtures. It is meant for 12 VDC circuits, so it is not the right match for a 24 V installation unless the boat has a dedicated 12 V feed at that location.
Because it is a deck-mount unit with a low housing, it works best where the lens can stay clear of anchor rollers, pulpits, rail bases, or other bow hardware that could block the light pattern. On refits, checking the existing footprint and wire pass-through first helps avoid drilling a new pattern in the deck cap.
Installation and setup
The unit mounts with three #6 fasteners and connects through 7 in. wire leads. For a clean installation on a boat that lives outside, the mounting surface should be flat and properly bedded so spray does not work its way under the base or into the wire opening.
This is a good fit for owners replacing a worn stainless bow light and wanting to keep the same basic incandescent setup. It also suits smaller powerboats where a compact fixture is easier to place on the foredeck without crowding nearby hardware.
