Overview
The Vimar Plana Series is a universal MASTER dimmer range for flush-mounted AC lighting control in protected onboard interiors. Across the range, it uses phase-cut dimming and supports incandescent loads from 40 to 400 W, electronic transformers from 40 to 300 VA, CFL lamps from 10 to 200 W, and LED lamps or phase-cut electronic LED transformers from 3 to 200 W.
This is the kind of control module used where a boat owner wants cleaner light adjustment in cabins, saloons, or other enclosed spaces without changing the Plana look across the panel. It switches and dims from the built-in push button and can also work from additional NO peripheral push buttons, which is useful when lighting needs to be controlled from more than one point.
The body measures 22.3 x 49 x 51 mm, connects by screw terminals, mounts flush with click-in fixing, and carries an IP40 rating. That makes it a better fit for protected interior locations than open deck or washdown areas.

Variants
This product is offered in multiple configurations that change the finish and the supply standard.
Across the listed variants, the dimming load ranges, push-button operation, flush-mount format, screw-terminal connection, IP40 rating, and body size stay the same. The 230V versions run at 50 Hz and use the 14137 extension format for MASTER layouts, while the 120V versions run at 60 Hz and use the 14137.120 format.
- VM14135.1.SL: Silver finish, 230V. This version suits installations built around 230V AC lighting circuits and keeps a silver Plana finish on the faceplate line.
- VM14135.1.120.SL: Silver finish, 120V. This version matches 120V AC systems and keeps the same silver appearance for projects that use silver trim throughout the cabin.
- VM14135.1: White finish, 230V. This version fits 230V AC lighting circuits and keeps a clean white Plana look that blends with white switchgear and panels.
- VM14135.1.120: White finish, 120V. This version matches 120V AC systems and keeps the same white finish for boats using white interior electrical trim.
Compatibility and fit
This dimmer makes sense on boats with AC interior lighting where lamp types may already be mixed across refit or replacement work. Because it handles incandescent, CFL, LED, and compatible electronic transformer loads in one unit, it is easier to keep the wall controls consistent when the fixtures are not all the same technology.
It is a good match for cabins, saloons, passageways, and other enclosed spaces where flush wall controls are preferred and where the dimmer needs to sit inside a protected electrical installation. For exposed helm stations, cockpit faces, or any location that sees direct spray or washdowns, the IP40 rating should be taken into account during system planning.
Installation and setup
The module uses screw terminals and click-in mounting, so it fits the kind of panel work where space behind the wall box is limited and the installer needs a compact insert. Minimum brightness adjustment also helps when the connected lamps need a little tuning at the low end to avoid an abrupt drop before switch-off.
For multi-point control layouts, the dimmer can be operated from the built-in button or from NO peripheral push buttons. That is useful on board when the same cabin or passage light needs to be reached from separate entry points.
