Overview
The Raymarine Axiom+ is a series of multifunction chartplotter displays for helm, cockpit, and flybridge installations where fast chart redraw, clear daylight viewing, and network expansion matter. The range is available in 7 inch, 9 inch, and 12 inch display sizes, with built-in GPS/GNSS, LightHouse OS, and support for LightHouse Charts, Navionics, and C-MAP cartography.
Each display runs on a 12 V dc boat system with an 8 V dc to 16 V dc operating range, making it suitable for typical small and mid-size marine electrical systems. The IPx6 and IPx7 waterproof ratings help the unit handle spray, rain, and exposed helm use, while the IPS touchscreen gives wide viewing angles when the display is mounted off-center or shared between crew members.
Axiom+ works well as the main navigation screen on fishing boats, center consoles, cruisers, and sailing yachts that need a clean chartplotter interface with room to expand into radar, cameras, engine data, and other onboard electronics.
Key features
- Available in 7 inch, 9 inch, and 12 inch display sizes to suit compact helms, larger dashboards, and multi-display layouts.
- Built-in GPS/GNSS receiver with 10 Hz position refresh for responsive vessel tracking on the chart.
- IPS touchscreen with high brightness, with up to 1800 nits on the 7 inch and 12 inch models and 1500 nits on the 9 inch model.
- HydroTough oleophobic screen coating helps shed water, oil, and fingerprints during wet hands operation.
- IPx6 and IPx7 waterproof ratings support exposed marine mounting locations where spray and rain are expected.
- 12 V dc operation with an 8 V dc to 16 V dc input range and 7 A fuse rating.
- RayNet Ethernet, NMEA 2000 through DeviceNet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, USB Micro B, and one MicroSDXC card slot for system expansion and data use.
- Compatible with LightHouse Charts, Navionics, and C-MAP electronic charts.
- 16 GB solid-state internal storage, with 14 GB usable for data and apps.
Variants
This Axiom+ range varies by display size and LightHouse chart option. The display choices are 7 inch, 9 inch, and 12 inch, so the main decision is how much screen area fits the helm and how much chart, radar, camera, or data layout space is needed.
The chart option changes whether the unit is supplied with no chart or with LightHouse Charts North America. The no-chart versions suit installations where separate or existing cartography will be used, while the North America versions include a preloaded LightHouse Charts North America chart card.
Installation and setup
The display can be used in trunnion-mounted installations or fitted into a dash using a surface or flush mount arrangement. Before cutting or drilling, check the selected display size against the helm space, viewing angle, cable clearance, and access to the MicroSD card slot.
Power and NMEA 2000 connectivity are handled through the supplied power and NMEA 2000 cable, with a 1.5 m power lead and 0.5 m NMEA 2000 lead. A DeviceNet to SeaTalkng adaptor cable is also included, which helps when tying the display into a Raymarine network using SeaTalkng components.
System integration
Axiom+ is built for more than chart display. RayNet Ethernet allows connection to compatible Raymarine network devices, while NMEA 2000 integration brings in data such as GPS, instruments, engine information, and other supported vessel data from the onboard network.
The LightHouse operating system supports common chart formats and gives the display a familiar interface for route planning, waypoint management, chart viewing, and split-screen use. With compatible equipment added to the system, the display can also become the control point for radar, cameras, and other Raymarine electronics.
Use on board
For an open center console, the brighter display and waterproof rating are useful in direct sun, spray, and washdown-prone areas. On a cruiser or sailboat, the wide viewing angles help when the display is mounted at a wheel, companionway, nav station, or shared helm position.
This range is a practical match for boat owners replacing an older chartplotter, building a Raymarine-based electronics network, or adding a second display where screen size and chart coverage need to be selected by installation space and cruising area.
