Overview

The Garmin 010-13194-00 is a USB voice control bundle that lets you control a compatible Garmin chartplotter by voice when paired with a compatible Bluetooth headset, and it can also work with voice control through a compatible Garmin watch.

It’s used on compatible GPSMAP chartplotters including GPSMAP 7x3, 9x3, 12x3, 84xx and 86xx series units, plus the GPSMAP 8700 black box. Once set up, you can speak commands instead of reaching for the touchscreen when the helm is busy.

This bundle is a straightforward add-on for boats where you want voice control at the helm without reworking the rest of the system.

Compatibility and fit

Voice control depends on having a compatible Garmin chartplotter model and software that supports the feature. If your chartplotter falls within the supported GPSMAP families, confirm voice control is available in the unit’s menus and settings before installation.

Installation and setup

Connect the included hardware to the chartplotter’s USB connection, then pair your headset or watch through the chartplotter’s Bluetooth pairing menu. After pairing, enable voice control and set the voice control language if needed.

For best day-to-day use, keep the USB connection point in a protected spot behind the helm so the dongle and cable aren’t exposed to spray or getting bumped during docking.

Wireless notes

Headsets and Garmin watches connect to the chartplotter using Bluetooth technology for voice control. Bluetooth connections used for voice control are not considered secure, private connections.
