Overview
The Blue Sea Systems 360 Panel System is a 12V DC branch circuit breaker panel range for organizing and protecting onboard DC loads from a central distribution point.
These panels use A-Series flat rocker circuit breakers with 15A single-pole branch breakers installed, making them a practical fit for helm stations, navigation areas, cabin distribution panels, and electrical refit projects where labeled control of multiple DC circuits matters. The range shown here includes an 8-position vertical panel and a 16-position wide panel with analog voltage and current metering.
The 360 format uses an open frame with modular panel sections, so multiple functions can be grouped into one clean panel layout. It is intended for boats with 12V DC systems where the installer needs a finished panel rather than building a custom breaker layout from loose parts.
Key features
- 12V DC branch circuit breaker panel system for common marine DC distribution layouts.
- Installed 15A A-Series flat rocker branch circuit breakers help protect individual DC loads and give each circuit a clear control point.
- Available in 8-position and 16-position configurations to match the number of circuits needed at the panel location.
- Flat rocker actuators give the panel a low-profile control surface and reduce accidental switching compared with protruding controls.
- Square-format DC label kit is included for circuit identification during installation.
- Optional metering varies by configuration, with the 16-position version including analog voltage and current monitoring.
Variants
This product is offered in two configurations that differ by branch position count, metering, and panel layout.
Both variants are 12V DC 360 Panel System branch breaker panels with flat rocker branch breakers. The main difference is whether the installation needs a compact vertical panel with no meter section or a wider panel with 16 branch positions and analog monitoring.
- 1201: 16 branch positions, analog voltmeter plus ammeter, large wide panel layout. This configuration suits larger DC panels where circuit count and at-a-glance system monitoring are both needed at the same location.
- 1200: 8 branch positions, no metering, vertical panel layout. This configuration suits a narrower mounting space or a smaller DC distribution group where separate voltage or current metering is not required on the panel.
Installation and setup
Plan the panel location around service access, cable routing, and the 3.00 in depth of the panel assembly. The 8-position version measures 7.75 in high by 4.88 in wide, while the 16-position version measures 7.75 in high by 13.63 in wide.
As with any DC distribution panel, conductor size, upstream protection, and the connected load on each breaker should be matched to the boat electrical plan. The maximum amperage differs by configuration, with the 8-position panel rated at 100A and the 16-position panel rated at 50A when installed with correctly sized wiring and overcurrent protection.
Use cases on board
This panel range fits boats that need labeled control for navigation electronics, cabin lights, pumps, communication gear, accessories, and other 12V DC loads. It is especially useful during electrical refits where an older switch panel is being replaced with a breaker-based distribution layout.
The 1200 works well where space is limited and the circuit group is modest. The 1201 is better suited to larger helm or cabin distribution areas where the owner wants more branch positions and analog system checks without adding separate meter panels.
