Overview
The Garmin 010-02683-00 is a 7 inch ECHOMAP UHD2 72sv chartplotter with a touchscreen plus keyed-assist controls, preloaded with a worldwide basemap. It is rated IPX7 for incidental water exposure and runs on 9 to 18 Vdc, so it fits typical 12 V systems without extra converters.
This unit supports Garmin Navionics+ and Garmin Navionics Vision+ cartography, plus BlueChart g3 coastal charts and LakeVü g3 inland maps, so you can tailor coverage to where you run. The display resolution is 800 x 480, and the screen size (7.0 inch diagonal) works well at the helm when space is tight but you still want a readable chart and sonar view.
On the fishing side, it supports Garmin traditional sonar along with ClearVü and SideVü scanning when paired with a compatible transducer (transducer not included with this model). Built-in Wi-Fi lets you share sonar, waypoints, and routes with another compatible ECHOMAP UHD2, and it pairs with the ActiveCaptain app for chart and software management.
Key features
- 7.0 inch diagonal WVGA display (800 x 480) with touchscreen plus keyed-assist controls for wet hands and chop
- Worldwide basemap, with support for Garmin Navionics+ and Garmin Navionics Vision+, BlueChart g3, and LakeVü g3 map options
- Built-in sonar support for Garmin traditional, ClearVü, and SideVü (compatible transducer required; not included with this model)
- Compatible with LiveScope sonar systems for real-time sonar views when added to the system
- Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz) for wireless sharing of sonar, waypoints, and routes between compatible ECHOMAP UHD2 units, plus ActiveCaptain connectivity
- NMEA 2000 support for integrating and sharing data with compatible onboard electronics; the display still needs its own power feed
- Input power range 9 to 18 Vdc with a 3 A fast-acting fuse included; typical draw is 1.52 A at 12 Vdc (RMS) with up to 3.2 A peak
- microSD card slot supports up to 1 TB for mapping and data storage

Installation and setup
The included tilt/swivel mount makes it straightforward to install on a console, dash top, or electronics box where you want quick viewing adjustments. Plan for cable routing and connector bend radius, and keep at least 118 mm of clearance behind the unit for wiring and ventilation space.
Physical size for the 7Xsv chassis is 218 x 142 x 81 mm (device and cradle only). In the bail mount with sun cover, overall size is 261 x 166 x 99 mm, which is useful when you are checking clearance against steering wheels, grab rails, or windshield frames.
Electrical and network integration
Power it from a 9 to 18 Vdc source through the included fuse, and size the circuit with the unit’s current draw in mind, especially if you are running multiple electronics off the same switch panel. On 24 V boats, a proper step-down converter is required since 24 V is outside the input range.
For networking, it can be connected to a NMEA 2000 backbone to share data with compatible devices. The chartplotter is not powered through the NMEA 2000 network, so you will still run the dedicated power cable even when it is networked.
Compatibility and fit
This model is the “no transducer” version, so it is a good fit when you already have a compatible transducer selected or installed. The included 12-pin sounder to 8-pin transducer cable helps when you are interfacing with an 8-pin transducer connection, but it is still important to confirm connector type and sonar feature support for the exact transducer you plan to use.
Use on board
It fits well on small to mid-size boats where you want charting plus sonar at the helm without jumping to a larger screen. Anglers who want SideVü and ClearVü capability today, with a path to LiveScope later, tend to get the most out of it, especially on center consoles, bay boats, and multispecies rigs that move between coastal water and inland lakes.
