Overview
The TACO Marine F90-0002BKN is a black nylon rub rail end cap for finishing the end of a compatible boat rub rail installation. It is used where the rail terminates, giving the end of the profile a cleaner appearance while helping keep the rub rail insert seated at the rail end.
This end cap has a 1-9/16 inch width and is made for use with #8 screws. It is a small but important finishing part for rub rail work on hull sides, transoms, swim platform edges, and other exposed rail runs where an unfinished end can look incomplete or leave the insert vulnerable to movement.
Key features
- Black nylon end cap made for TACO Marine rub rail installations.
- 1-9/16 inch width for matching specific TACO rub rail profiles.
- Uses #8 screws for mounting to the rail end area.
- Caps the end of the rub rail to create a more finished termination point.
- Helps retain the rub rail insert at the end of the rail run.
- Sold individually for replacing one end cap or completing one rail end.
- Covered by a 5-year limited warranty.
Compatibility and fit
This end cap fits TACO Marine rub rail profiles V11-3161, V11-3447, V21-0456, V21-0460, V21-3671, and V21-9501. Match the end cap to the rub rail profile on the boat before installation, especially when replacing an older cap or finishing a partial rail repair.
The black finish works well with black rub rail profiles and darker insert combinations where the end cap should blend into the rail rather than stand out. Because rub rail profiles vary in shape and height, the profile number is the most important fit check.
Installation notes
Position the end cap squarely over the rail termination and fasten it using #8 screws suited to the mounting surface. On fiberglass boats, pre-drilling and sealing the fastener holes helps reduce the risk of gelcoat cracking and water intrusion around the screw points.
For a cleaner result, trim the rub rail and insert neatly before fitting the cap. The end cap should sit flush against the rail end without forcing the profile out of alignment.
Use on board
This part is a practical match for owners, yards, and refit technicians finishing a rub rail replacement, repairing impact damage at a rail end, or replacing a missing cap during cosmetic work. It is most useful in visible exterior areas where the rail end needs both a tidy finish and a defined stop for the insert.
