Overview
The Blue Sea Systems 3126 is a PG29 SMS enclosure cable gland sized for one #6 cable with four conductors. It is the large gland option used with the Blue Sea Systems Surface Mount System when a larger cable needs to pass into the enclosure cleanly.
It works with Blue Sea Systems SMS enclosures 3113, 3116, 3117, 3118, and 3119, so fit comes down to using one of those enclosures and matching the cable size correctly. This is a mechanical cable-entry part, not a voltage-specific electrical component, so the key checks on board are enclosure compatibility and the cable itself rather than whether the system is 12V, 24V, or AC shore power.
Key features
- PG29 cable gland format for larger cable entry points on Blue Sea Systems SMS enclosures
- Accepts one #6 cable with four conductors
- Fits Blue Sea Systems SMS enclosure models 3113, 3116, 3117, 3118, and 3119
- Useful as a replacement gland or when adding the correct cable entry size during an SMS enclosure build
- Compact accessory weight of 0.25 lb (0.11 kg)
Compatibility and fit
This gland makes sense when the enclosure is already part of the SMS range and the cable run is larger than the smaller gland positions are meant to handle. It is a practical match for panel work around feeder cables and shore power related enclosure layouts where a #6 four-conductor cable has to enter the box without forcing an undersized opening.
Before ordering, check that the enclosure is one of the supported SMS models and that the cable you are routing matches the #6 four-conductor format. If either point is different, another gland size in the same enclosure family will usually be the better fit.
Installation and setup
For service work, this part is useful when an existing SMS enclosure needs a worn gland replaced or when a spare is worth keeping on hand during panel maintenance. In a new installation, using the correct gland from the start helps keep cable entry points consistent across the enclosure and avoids rework once the box is mounted and wired.
This product is a good match for boat owners, electricians, and yards working on surface-mounted electrical enclosures in lockers, machinery spaces, or shore power areas where cable routing needs to stay orderly and the enclosure hardware needs to match the rest of the SMS setup.
