Overview
The Vimar 10490 is a white LED signalling unit for illuminable Vimar rocker switches and push buttons, powered from 12-24 V AC/DC and drawing 0.1 W.
It sits behind the switch to add a locator light you can see at night, or a simple status indication depending on how your switch module is wired. Because the draw is tiny, it works well on boats where the panel may stay energized for night running.
Key features
- Runs on 12V or 24V systems (12-24 V AC/DC)
- 0.1 W power draw for low overnight load
- White LED light that is easy to spot on a switch panel
- Compatible with Vimar illuminable rocker switches across the Plana, Arké, Linea, Eikon and Idea families
- Insert-style lamp that integrates into the switch mechanism rather than a standalone panel indicator
- Works as a switch locator in dark cockpits and cabins, or as an on and off indicator for a connected circuit
Compatibility and fit
This signalling unit is intended for Vimar modular wiring devices that accept a removable light insert. It is not a round indicator lamp that mounts through a drilled panel, so verify your switch or push button is the illuminable version with the dedicated light position.
In Vimar cataloging, the same white 12-24 V insert is commonly shown as code 00935.W, which can help when matching an older panel bill of materials.
Installation and setup
Power down the circuit at the breaker, then remove the rocker and the switch module from the frame to access the rear. Fit the signalling unit into the light seat on the module and land the two leads on the illumination terminals.
For a locator light, the insert is typically fed from the panel supply. For a status indication, it is commonly tied to the switched output so it lights only when the load is on. Confirm the behavior before you reinstall the faceplate and button up the panel.
Electrical and system integration
Because it accepts 12-24 V AC/DC, it can be used on most boat DC systems and on low-voltage control circuits. Keep the feed protected by the same fuse or breaker that protects the switch circuit, and use tinned marine wire where the run is exposed to moisture.
Use on board
This is a good match for helm or cabin panels built around Vimar modular switches where you want a small white reference point at night, or a quick visual that a circuit like deck lights, spreader lights, or a livewell pump is energized.
Maintenance and care
The insert lives behind the faceplate, so routine care is mostly about keeping the switch panel clean and dry. If you see moisture or corrosion at the terminals, correct the source and re-terminate with clean, protected connections.
