Overview
The Attwood Marine 66000 Series is a stainless steel deck-mount sidelight range for 12 V navigation-light circuits, with red and green lens options for port and starboard use. Each sidelight is rated for 1 nautical mile of visibility and is intended for powerboats up to 39.4 ft, or 12 m, in length.
These lights mount horizontally on the deck and give the boat the required side visibility arc for red port or green starboard navigation lighting. The housing is made from corrosion-resistant 304 stainless steel, which suits exposed bow and deck locations where spray, salt, sun, and regular washdowns are part of normal use.
The compact deck-mount format works well for small powerboats, runabouts, center consoles, and fishing boats that need a traditional incandescent sidelight with a polished stainless look. Rubber gasket lens seals help protect the internal bulb and socket area from moisture intrusion during everyday marine use.
Key features
- 1 nautical mile visibility for powerboats up to 39.4 ft, or 12 m, in length.
- 12 V DC operation for standard small-boat navigation-light circuits.
- 304 stainless steel housing for corrosion resistance in exposed deck and bow locations.
- Deck-mount horizontal sidelight format for port or starboard installation.
- 112.5 degree sidelight visibility arc for proper navigation-light orientation.
- Rubber gasket lens seal helps protect the bulb and socket area from splash and internal corrosion.
- Installs with three #6 mounting fasteners, which are not included.
- Uses Attwood 9231 style 12 V festoon replacement lamp.
Variants
This sidelight range is offered in separate red and green configurations so the correct lens color can be matched to the correct side of the boat.
The lens color and side application vary by part number. The deck-mount stainless housing, 12 V electrical use, 1 nautical mile visibility rating, and boat-length rating remain consistent across these listed configurations.
- 66319R7: Red lens. This is the port-side sidelight used on the left side of the vessel when facing forward.
- 66319G7: Green lens. This is the starboard-side sidelight used on the right side of the vessel when facing forward.
Installation and setup
Mount each sidelight on a flat deck surface where the lens has an unobstructed view forward and outward. Port and starboard sidelights should be installed parallel to the boat centerline so the light pattern remains aligned with the vessel's heading.
Use marine wiring practices for the 12 V connection, protect the circuit appropriately, and seal the mounting area as needed for the deck material. Because the mounting fasteners are not included, select #6 fasteners suited to the surface and hardware environment on the boat.
Use cases on board
This series is a good match for owners replacing older stainless deck sidelights or outfitting small powerboats that need separate red and green navigation lights rather than a combined bow light. It also fits boats where a low-profile deck-mounted light is preferred over rail-mounted or vertical fixtures.
For boats used around docks, inshore routes, fishing grounds, and evening runs back to the ramp or marina, the 1 nautical mile rating gives the visibility required for vessels in this size class while keeping the installation simple and familiar.
Maintenance and care
Rinse the housing with fresh water after saltwater use and keep the lens clear of wax, polish, salt film, and debris. Check the gasket area during bulb replacement so the lens seats properly before the light goes back into service.
Before getting underway at dusk or in poor visibility, switch on the navigation lights and confirm that the red and green sidelights are visible from the correct sides of the boat with no gear, canvas, rail hardware, or anchor equipment blocking the light output.
