Overview

The Garmin 010-11599-10 is a rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack for compatible Rino handheld GPS and two-way radio units. It fits Rino 650, 650T, 655T, 750, 750T, and 755T models and lets you swap power quickly when you are away from a charger. Typical use on the Rino 650 series is rated up to 14 hours per charge, depending on settings and radio use.

On a boat, a spare pack keeps a handheld ready for dinghy runs, marina walks, and deck communication without digging for loose AAs. Keep the spare in a dry pouch, and dry the handheld before opening the battery area so moisture stays away from the contacts.

Compatibility and fit

Some Rino units can also run on an optional AA battery holder. If your handheld is set up that way for emergencies, this lithium-ion pack is the correct style when you want a single-piece rechargeable pack installed.

Installation and on-board use

Turn the rear D-ring counter-clockwise, remove the installed pack, seat the replacement pack fully, then lock the D-ring back down. Take a quick look for sand or grit on the sealing surfaces so the back closes cleanly.

For boating use, change packs somewhere sheltered when you can. Wipe spray and salt off the handheld and dry it before opening the battery area.

Charging and care

Recharge the pack in the handheld using the same power method you normally use for your Rino. Keep charging within 32°F to 113°F (0°C to 45°C), and avoid leaving lithium-ion packs in direct sun or a hot cabin for long periods.
