Overview
The Attwood Marine Lift 'n Lock Anchor Control is a manual anchor lift and pulley system for small boats that need a simple way to raise, hold, and release an anchor without installing an electric windlass. It supports anchors up to 20 lb and works with 1/4-inch to 7/16-inch diameter anchor line, which is sold separately.
This anchor control is a practical fit for small open boats, fishing boats, tenders, and other light-duty setups where the anchor is handled often but electrical gear is not needed. The Lift 'n Lock mechanism helps keep the line under control during setting and retrieval, while the pulley and sheave arrangement keeps anchor handling more manageable from on board.
Key features
- Manual lift-and-lock anchor control for raising, holding, and releasing an anchor on small boats.
- Supports anchors up to 20 lb when used with suitable anchor line and a properly installed setup.
- Works with 1/4-inch to 7/16-inch diameter anchor line, sold separately.
- Pulley and sheave layout helps control the anchor line without hand-over-hand strain at the bow.
- Available in Standard and Deluxe grades to match different construction preferences.
Variants
The Lift 'n Lock Anchor Control is offered in two configurations. Both are manual anchor-control units for light-duty boat anchoring, with the grade being the main difference between versions.
The Standard grade uses zinc-plated steel construction with a nylon pulley system and steel sheave. The Deluxe grade uses high-impact reinforced nylon with stainless steel shafts.
- 13702-4: Grade Deluxe. This version uses high-impact reinforced nylon and stainless steel shafts, giving the anchor control hardware a corrosion-conscious build for use around the bow.
- 13700-7: Grade Standard. This version uses zinc-plated steel, nylon pulleys, and a steel sheave for a straightforward mechanical anchor-control setup.
Installation and fit
Plan the installation so the anchor line runs cleanly through the pulley system without sharp bends, rubbing points, or interference from cleats, rails, trolling motors, or bow hardware. Because the line is not included, line diameter and anchor weight should be matched to the selected configuration before mounting.
This is a mechanical anchor-control product, so it does not require 12V or 24V power, switches, breakers, or marine network integration. It is most useful where simple anchor handling matters more than powered retrieval, especially on small boats used for fishing, day cruising, or dockside anchoring.
