Overview

The Garmin 010-10861-00 is a hardwire motorcycle power cable for compatible Garmin zumo units, built to keep the GPS powered from a 12 V DC supply instead of relying on internal battery runtime. It uses bare-wire leads for permanent wiring and is meant to be used with the zumo motorcycle mount (mount hardware sold separately).

Installation and setup

Plan to wire the cable into a switched 12 V DC circuit so the GPS mount is not left energized when the boat is unattended. Terminate the bare leads with the right connectors for your panel or bus bar, and keep the connection points protected from spray and washdowns with sealed terminals and heat-shrink where appropriate.

Route the cable so it is supported and strain-relieved near the mount, then keep the run clear of sharp edges, moving steering components, and high-heat areas. If the installation is in an exposed cockpit, leave a drip loop and place any splices in a sheltered location above standing water.

Compatibility and fit

This cable is intended for the zumo motorcycle mounting setup used with the zumo 400, 450, 500, and 550. It is not a USB charger lead, and it is not meant to power devices that use different cradles or connectors.
