Overview
The TACO Marine A11-0152TAL12D-A is a polished clear anodized aluminum overlap rub rail for boat hull edges, seams, and trim areas where a clean metal profile is needed without a separate insert. This 12-foot aluminum section has a 1 inch high profile with a 7/16 inch width, making it useful for replacement rub rail work, aluminum trim, and seam binding on compatible hull shapes.
The rail is pre-drilled and countersunk for #8 screws on 6 inch centers, which helps keep the fastener layout consistent during installation. Its anodized finish adds protection for regular marine exposure, while the aluminum profile can be bent and formed for tight-radius areas when handled and fitted carefully.
Key features
- Polished clear anodized aluminum overlap profile for rub rail, trim, and molding applications.
- Sold as a 12-foot section for longer runs along the hull, deck edge, or seam area.
- 1 inch height with 7/16 inch width for matching compatible replacement profiles.
- Pre-drilled and countersunk for #8 screws on 6 inch centers to simplify fastening layout.
- No insert is used, giving the installation a clean metal edge without a separate vinyl or rubber insert strip.
- 6063-T5 aluminum alloy supports bending and shaping during fit-up while keeping the profile strong for normal rub rail use.
- Polished anodized surface helps the rail stand up to the harsh conditions around docks, washdowns, spray, and sun exposure.
Installation and fit
Before ordering or installing, compare the profile shape and measurements against the existing rub rail or trim on the boat. This is especially important when replacing a factory rail, because a close match at the hull-to-deck joint helps the new section sit correctly and keeps the finished edge looking consistent.
During installation, dry-fit the rail along the mounting area before final fastening. Support the 12-foot extrusion while working it around curves, and avoid forcing bends too sharply at one point. The pre-drilled screw pattern helps with alignment, but the mounting surface should still be checked for old sealant, uneven holes, or damaged core material before the new rail is secured.
Use cases on board
This rub rail is a practical match for boat owners and yards replacing aluminum edge molding, cleaning up a seam, or restoring a worn rub rail profile on a compatible powerboat, fishing boat, or cruiser. It is most useful where a metal overlap rail is already part of the boat’s construction or where a finished aluminum trim edge is preferred over an insert-style system.
