Overview
The Raymarine TM265 is a 1 kW transom-mount CHIRP transducer for boats using compatible Raymarine CHIRP sonar hardware. It is built with a urethane body, 8 internal ceramics, depth and temperature sensing, and a 33 ft. / 10 m cable for routing back to the display or sonar module.
This transducer is made for owners who want strong fishfinder performance without installing a through-hull. The TM265 mounts on the transom and supports deadrise angles from 0 to 25 degrees, making it a practical fit for many fiberglass, wood, and metal hulls where a transom installation is preferred.
The range includes Low/High and Low/Medium versions. Both share the same low CHIRP band from 42 to 65 kHz for deeper water, while the second band changes depending on whether the setup needs higher-resolution shallow detail or medium-frequency coverage under the boat.
Key features
- 1 kW CHIRP transducer for Raymarine fishfinder systems that support an 11-pin CHIRP transducer connection.
- Transom-mount format for installations where a through-hull transducer is not the preferred choice.
- Urethane housing with depth and water-temperature sensing in the same unit.
- 33 ft. / 10 m cable gives enough length for many transom-to-helm or transom-to-sonar-module cable runs.
- Supports 0 to 25 degree transom deadrise angles for use on a wide range of powerboat hulls.
- Compatible with Raymarine Axiom Pro RVX, Axiom 2 Pro RVM, RVX1000, RVM1600, CP470, CP570, and legacy CHIRP sonar modules.
Variants
The TM265 is offered in two frequency configurations for different sonar priorities.
Both variants use the same transom-mount TM265 platform, 1 kW power rating, urethane construction, 33 ft. / 10 m cable, 0 to 25 degree deadrise support, and 11-pin Raymarine CHIRP connection. The frequency range, beam behavior, and maximum rated depth of the second band are the main differences.
- A80013: Low-High frequency range, with 42 to 65 kHz low CHIRP and 130 to 210 kHz high CHIRP. The low band is rated to 3,000 ft., while the high band is rated to 1,000 ft. and gives a narrower 10 to 6 degree beam for fine target detail.
- A80041: Low-Medium frequency range, with 42 to 65 kHz low CHIRP and 85 to 135 kHz medium CHIRP. The low band is rated to 3,000 ft., while the medium band is rated to 1,500 ft. and gives 16 to 11 degree beam coverage for targets under the boat and near structure.
Installation and fit
The TM265 is intended for transom mounting, so placement matters. It should be mounted where it can stay in clean water flow at running speed, away from turbulence from strakes, steps, prop wash, or through-hull fittings. The 33 ft. / 10 m cable should be routed with drip loops and protected from sharp edges, heat, and moving gear.
Because this is a 1 kW CHIRP transducer, it should be matched with a sonar module or multifunction display that can drive the selected frequency configuration. It is a good match for fishing boats and offshore powerboats that use Raymarine CHIRP sonar and need depth, bottom, bait, and fish target information from a transom-mounted sensor.
System integration
The 11-pin CHIRP connector connects directly with compatible Raymarine sonar hardware, including Axiom Pro RVX, Axiom 2 Pro RVM, RVX1000, RVM1600, CP470, CP570, and legacy CHIRP sonar modules. Confirm the sonar channel and frequency support before purchase, especially when choosing between the Low-High and Low-Medium versions.
For saltwater boats, the cable run and transom hardware should be inspected during routine service. Keep the transducer face clean, avoid painting over the active surface unless using a transducer-safe coating, and check that the mount remains tight after trailering, heavy runs, or impacts with floating debris.
