Overview
The Victron Energy BPC900110114 is a battery indicator panel with M8 eyelet connectors and a 30A ATO fuse for use with Victron Blue Smart and Blue Power IP65 chargers. It gives a quick visual readout of a 12V lead acid battery’s state of charge, including flooded, GEL, and AGM batteries, making it useful for small boats, tenders, service batteries, trailerable craft, and dockside battery maintenance setups.
The panel works across a 6-15V voltage range and uses a 1.5 m cable with 3.3 mm2 AWG12 conductors. The housing has an IP65 protection rating, so it can be mounted where spray and routine washdowns are part of normal boat use, provided the installation location and cable routing are handled correctly.
Status is shown with simple light indications after the battery has had time to settle. Green indicates roughly 80-100 percent, orange indicates 60-80 percent, red indicates 40-60 percent, and no light means the battery should be charged immediately to help prevent sulfation.
Key features
- Accessory for Victron Blue Smart and Blue Power IP65 chargers.
- Made for 12V lead acid batteries, including flooded, GEL, and AGM types.
- M8 eyelet connectors attach directly to compatible battery terminals.
- Integrated 30A ATO fuse adds circuit protection at the battery connection.
- 1.5 m cable gives practical reach from the battery to a nearby panel location.
- IP65 protection rating supports use in marine areas exposed to spray and washdowns.
- Low 0.9 mA back current drain helps limit standby draw while the indicator remains connected.
- Panel cut-out is 39 x 22 mm, with an overall panel size of 45 x 26 x 50 mm.
Installation and setup
The M8 eyelet connectors are intended for direct attachment to matching battery posts or terminal studs. The 30A ATO fuse should remain close to the battery side of the installation, and the cable should be routed away from sharp edges, hot engine-room surfaces, and moving gear.
The panel cut-out is 39 x 22 mm, which makes it suitable for a small helm panel, battery locker face, utility panel, or service compartment where the indicator can be checked without opening up the whole electrical installation. Leave enough clearance behind the panel for the 50 mm body depth and cable bend radius.
Compatibility and fit
This indicator is for 12V lead acid batteries only. It is not a battery monitor for lithium systems, and it is not a substitute for a shunt-based monitor when exact amp-hour tracking is required.
It is a practical match for boats that use a Victron IP65 charger for keeping a starting battery, house battery, or auxiliary lead acid battery topped up between trips. The simple light display is most useful when the crew needs a fast check before charging, launching, or leaving the boat at the dock.
Maintenance and use on board
For the most accurate indication, check the display after the battery has rested for about 30 minutes after use. On vessels with pumps, electronics, lighting, or other intermittent DC loads, this settling time helps the indicator reflect the battery’s condition more realistically.
As part of seasonal maintenance, inspect the eyelet connections, fuse holder, and cable routing for corrosion, looseness, or chafe. Keeping these points clean and secure helps the indicator remain dependable in a saltwater electrical environment.
