Overview

The MotorGuide 8M0092072 is a set of quick disconnect battery terminals that makes it easier to remove a battery connection for charging, storage, or service. It fits 4 to 6 gauge wire and is rated for 500 amps continuous, 800 amps surge at 12 volts.

The terminal body is made from a copper zinc alloy, and the red and black insulated covers help keep polarity clear while reducing accidental contact around the battery. Jump cables can be attached without removing the connectors, which helps when you need a boost at the dock or at the ramp.

Compatibility and fit

This is a top-post battery terminal style, sized for the heavier battery leads commonly used on trolling motor and accessory battery circuits. Confirm you have 4 to 6 gauge cable and enough clearance above the battery posts to operate the disconnect in your battery box, aft locker, or under-seat compartment.

Installation and setup

Disconnect power before working on the battery, then route the cable so it will not chafe on edges or hinge points. Tighten the connection firmly and recheck it after the first few trips, especially on boats that see pounding, vibration, or frequent trailering.

Use on board
