Overview
The Attwood Marine Low Profile Adjustable Battery Tray is a tray-style battery hold-down range for Group 24/24M and Group 27/27M marine batteries. It gives the battery a fixed base without the extra height of a full battery box, which helps in tighter locations such as under seats, inside consoles, in lockers, or near protected engine-room battery areas.
Each tray uses black plastic that will not corrode and includes an adjustable-height crossbar with two retaining bolts to help secure the battery from movement during vibration, chop, trailering, and regular service access. The trays install with #10 fasteners and meet ABYC Standard E-10 and U.S. Coast Guard requirements for marine battery retention.
Key features
- Low-profile tray format supports battery mounting where clearance is limited compared with a full enclosure.
- Available for 24/24M and 27/27M battery series, with inside dimensions listed by configuration for fit checking.
- Adjustable-height crossbar and two retaining bolts help hold the battery down during normal boat motion and vibration.
- Black plastic construction will not corrode in damp bilge, locker, console, or compartment locations.
- Installs with #10 fasteners, making it straightforward to mount to a flat, suitable support surface.
- Meets ABYC Standard E-10 and U.S. Coast Guard requirements for marine battery hold-down applications.
Variants
This battery tray range is offered in two configurations based on battery series and inside tray dimensions.
The battery series and internal footprint change between the variants. The low-profile tray format, adjustable crossbar hold-down style, black plastic construction, #10 fastener installation, and marine battery retention compliance are consistent across the range.
- 9090-1 fits Battery Series 24/24M with inside dimensions of 10-5/8" x 7-1/4" x 8-1/2". This size is commonly used where a Group 24 battery needs a secure tray without taking up the footprint of a larger Group 27 setup.
- 9091-1 fits Battery Series 27/27M with inside dimensions of 12-5/8" x 7-1/4" x 8-1/2". The longer tray footprint suits Group 27 batteries while keeping the same low-profile hold-down approach.
What’s included
- Battery tray
- Adjustable-height crossbar
- Two retaining bolts
Installation and fit
Check the battery case size against the listed inside dimensions before installation, especially on boats where batteries sit close to bulkheads, hatches, wiring runs, fuel lines, or steering components. The mounting surface should be flat, solid, and suitable for the weight of the battery under boat motion.
Because this is a tray rather than a covered box, it is a good match for installations where the battery is already in a protected compartment and the main need is secure mechanical retention. Leave enough clearance above the battery for the crossbar, terminals, cable bends, and routine service.
Use on board
These trays are suited for boat owners, riggers, and OEM-style replacement work where a battery needs a simple hold-down that resists corrosion and keeps the installation tidy. They work well for protected battery locations on fishing boats, cruisers, runabouts, and utility craft where fit and access matter as much as retention.
