Overview
The Raymarine Axiom is a touchscreen multifunction chartplotter for helm stations, cabins, and protected or exposed cockpit installations where a compact navigation display needs to handle more than basic plotting. It runs Raymarine LightHouse software, uses a quad-core processor, and includes an internal GNSS receiver so it can serve as the main display for routes, charts, instruments, radar, cameras, autopilot data, and other connected systems.
This Axiom range is available with 7, 9, and 12 inch displays. The units operate on 12 V dc systems with an 8 V dc to 16 V dc operating range, carry an IPX6 and IPX7 waterproof rating, and support NMEA 2000 through the DeviceNet connector built into the power cable. RayNet Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a MicroSDXC card slot, and a Micro B USB accessory connection give the display room to grow with the electronics already on board.
Key features
- Touchscreen multifunction display for chartplotting, navigation data, radar, sonar modules, instruments, cameras, audio integration, and Evolution autopilot control when connected to compatible Raymarine systems.
- Internal GNSS receiver supports GPS, GLONASS, and BeiDou, with SBAS support for regional differential correction.
- 12 V dc operation with an 8 V dc to 16 V dc range and a 7 A fuse rating for small and mid-size vessel electrical systems.
- IPX6 and IPX7 waterproof rating for helm areas exposed to spray, rain, and washdowns.
- RayNet Ethernet connection for compatible Raymarine network devices, including radar and additional displays.
- NMEA 2000 connectivity through the DeviceNet lead in the power cable, with LEN 1 network load.
- Wi-Fi and Bluetooth built in for supported Raymarine mobile app functions and wireless connectivity.
- MicroSDXC card slot for charts, updates, and data handling, depending on the installed chart package and system setup.
- 1200 nit display illumination helps the screen stay readable in bright helm conditions.
Variants
This Raymarine Axiom chartplotter is offered in several display and chart package configurations.
The main differences are screen size and chart package. The 7 and 9 inch models use WVGA 800 x 480 resolution, while the 12 inch model uses WXGA 1280 x 800 resolution. Core Axiom features such as LightHouse software, internal GNSS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, RayNet Ethernet, NMEA 2000, and IPX6/IPX7 protection apply across the Axiom range listed here.
- E70363: 7 inch display with Standard chart package. This size suits tighter helm panels, small center consoles, sailboat pedestals, and secondary navigation stations where space is limited.
- E70366: 9 inch display with Standard chart package. The 9 inch screen gives more chart area than the 7 inch model while still fitting many console and dash layouts without major panel changes.
- E70366-00-202: 9 inch display with LightHouse Charts package. This version adds the LightHouse chart package for users who want the same 9 inch Axiom display with chart content included.
- E70368: 12 inch display with Standard chart package. The 12 inch screen is better suited to larger helms where split-screen navigation, radar, instruments, and camera views benefit from more display area.
Installation and integration
Axiom is made for surface, flush, or trunnion-style mounting, so it can be fitted into a dash panel or mounted on a bracket where the helm layout needs angle adjustment. Check the chosen display size against the available panel cutout, cable bend space, and sightline from the normal steering position before installation.
Power and NMEA 2000 are handled through the supplied power cable assembly, while RayNet Ethernet is used for compatible high-bandwidth Raymarine equipment. For best results on a networked boat, plan the display location around cable runs to radar, sonar modules, autopilot components, instruments, and network switches before cutting the panel.
Use cases on board
This Axiom range is a strong match for cruising boats, fishing boats, day boats, and sailboats that need a central display for chart navigation and connected electronics. The smaller display works well where panel space is limited, while the 9 and 12 inch versions make more sense when the skipper regularly views charts alongside radar, instruments, or camera feeds.
Because these are multifunction displays, the final capability depends on the sensors, charts, and network equipment installed on the vessel. That makes them useful as a clean standalone chartplotter today and as the display hub for a more complete Raymarine system later.
