Overview
The Blue Sea Systems 7721 is a MEGA/AMG safety fuse block for high-amperage DC circuit protection on boats. It is ignition protected for installation aboard gasoline or diesel powered vessels, and it is rated for up to 300A on systems up to 32V DC.
This block uses M8 x 1.25 studs and accepts 5/16 inch ring terminals, making it a practical match for battery, charging, inverter, and other main feed circuits where a MEGA or AMG fuse format is specified. The sealed insulating cover meets ABYC/USCG insulation requirements and helps keep the fuse area protected in a marine environment.
Key features
- Handles high-amperage DC protection up to 300A on 32V DC systems
- Ignition protected for use on gasoline or diesel powered boats
- Works with MEGA and AMG fuse formats for common high-current installations
- Sealed insulating cover meets ABYC/USCG insulation requirements
- Cover breakouts allow cable entry from any direction
- M8 x 1.25 studs accept 5/16 inch ring terminals
- Supports cable sizes up to 4/0 AWG
- Accepts Blue Sea Systems Square Format labels for clear circuit identification
Compatibility and fit
This fuse block is suited to installations where you need a compact holder for a MEGA or AMG fuse in a high-current line. It is a good fit for larger DC feeds that need a clean, protected fuse mounting point close to the battery bank or other major power source.
Before ordering, check that your system uses MEGA or AMG fuses, that your cable lugs match the M8 stud hardware, and that your conductor size and overcurrent protection plan align with the circuit load. The fuse is sold separately, so the amperage can be matched to the specific circuit.
Installation and setup
The cover breakouts make cable routing easier when space is tight behind a bulkhead, inside a battery compartment, or near other distribution hardware. That flexibility helps when the cable run does not approach the block from a straight line.
For a secure connection, the stud torque is 120 in-lb. The label area is useful when multiple protected circuits are installed in the same compartment and you want fast identification during service or troubleshooting.
Use on board
This block makes sense for boats that carry higher-current DC equipment and need a fuse holder that is easy to inspect without leaving the fuse exposed. It suits refits and new builds where neat wiring, protected terminals, and ignition protection matter around battery and charging circuits.
