Overview
The Vimar Idea 17086 is a 1-module mounting frame with a smooth front and no visible fixing screws, made for round or square flush mounting boxes with 60 mm fixing centres and 56x56 mm boxes, as well as 09971 surface mounting boxes.
On board it is used to seat a single Vimar IDEA modular device cleanly in a bulkhead or panel, keeping the front tidy around lighting and accessory controls in cabins, heads, and helm stations.

Variants
This mounting frame is offered in two colour configurations to match different IDEA finishes.
Colour changes between variants; the 1-module format and box compatibility stay the same.
- VM17086.B: Color Ivory. A light finish that blends with white or light trim around switches and outlets.
- VM17086: Color Gray. A neutral finish that matches gray plates and tends to hide handling marks in high-touch areas.
Installation and setup
Confirm your box type and fixing centres before cutting or drilling. This frame is intended for 60 mm centre spacing and also works with 56x56 mm flush boxes, plus the 09971 surface box. The frame fastens to the box, then the 1-module device is secured from the rear and finished with the matching cover plate.
When installing on a boat, use a backing plate or a firm panel surface so the frame stays flat. That helps the cover plate sit evenly and avoids movement when the panel flexes underway.
Compatibility and fit
This is a flush-mount frame, not a floor box accessory and not a DIN-rail mounting part. It is intended for the Vimar IDEA modular system, so match the frame, device, and cover plate within the same family and in a 1-module format.
