Overview
The B&G 000-15141-001 is a replacement battery for the WS320 wireless wind sensor masthead unit, used when the existing pack will not hold charge or when you want a spare ready to go.
On the WS320 system, the masthead unit pairs to a Bluetooth base station during setup. If the battery is disconnected or replaced, the sensor will need to be paired again before it goes back up the mast. For pairing to succeed, keep the masthead unit within 0.5 m (1.6 ft) of the base station and allow up to 5 minutes for the connection to complete.
Key features
- Replacement battery pack for B&G WS320 wireless wind sensors
- Restores operation when the original battery no longer holds charge
- Supports the WS320 pairing workflow after a battery swap, including close-range pairing within 0.5 m (1.6 ft)
- Helps reduce downtime by keeping a spare battery onboard for quick turnaround
- Use the correct replacement type for the WS320; incorrect battery types can be hazardous
Compatibility and fit
This battery is intended for the WS320 wireless wind sensor masthead unit. Confirm your system is WS320 before ordering, since wind sensors from other series use different power arrangements and housings.
Installation and setup
Replace the battery with the system powered down and the masthead unit safely accessed. After connecting the new battery, repeat the pairing process with the masthead unit close to the Bluetooth base station, then verify wind data is updating on your display before reinstalling the sensor at the masthead.
When closing the unit back up, make sure the cover and sealing surfaces are clean and seated correctly, since this area of the boat sees spray, UV, and constant vibration.
Storage and care
For winter lay-up or storage longer than 30 days, removing the battery from the masthead unit helps prevent it from being drained while the boat sits. When putting the system back into service, plan on pairing the masthead unit again before it goes back up the mast.
On-board use
This spare battery makes sense for boats that rely on the WS320 for day-to-day sailing data and for crews that want a backup onboard in case the masthead unit needs service during a trip.
