Overview
The Raymarine T908 is an active GPS antenna for adding position, course over ground, and speed over ground data to a Raymarine mn100 Micronet wireless instrument system. It connects by cable to the T122 Wireless NMEA Interface, which is sold separately, and outputs GPS data for use across compatible Micronet wireless instrument displays.
This sensor is a practical fit for sailboats and smaller marine instrument networks where a clean GPS feed is needed without replacing the existing Micronet system. It can be mounted inside or outside the boat, uses a compact antenna body, and includes a standard 1" x 14 pole mount adapter for common deck, mast, rail, and stanchion mounting arrangements.
Key installation details include 16 parallel channels, accuracy rated to 3.3 m RMS when DOP is less than 3, a mounting bolt size of 22 mm diameter by 15 mm height, and a sensor weight of 108 g without cable.
Key features
- Adds GPS position, course over ground, and speed over ground to Raymarine mn100 Micronet wireless instrument systems.
- Connects directly to the Raymarine T122 Wireless NMEA Interface for integration with the Micronet network.
- NMEA 0183 output supports GPS data transfer into compatible wireless instrument setups.
- Can be installed inside the boat or outside where the antenna has a suitable mounting position.
- 16 parallel channels support GPS reception for navigation data on board.
- Compact body with 22 mm diameter by 15 mm high bolt mounting detail for a low-profile installation.
- Includes a standard 1" x 14 pole mount adapter for common deck, mast, rail, and stanchion mount hardware.
- Light sensor weight of 108 g without cable helps reduce load on elevated mounting points.
Compatibility and fit
This antenna is made for the Raymarine mn100 Micronet system and is intended to work through the T122 Wireless NMEA Interface. It is not a general-purpose GPS antenna for every chartplotter or marine electronics network, so the key fit check is whether the boat already uses Micronet wireless instruments and has, or will be fitted with, the T122 interface.
Installation and setup
The antenna may be mounted inside or outside the boat, which gives flexibility on sailboats where deck space, mast hardware, and cable routing can be limited. The supplied 1" x 14 pole mount adapter suits many standard marine mounting accessories, making it easier to position the sensor on a deck, mast, rail, or stanchion location.
For best results, place the antenna where it has a clear view of the sky and where the cable can be routed cleanly back to the T122 interface. Avoid locations where metal structures, heavy deck hardware, or other antennas may block reception or create unnecessary cable strain.
Use cases on board
This sensor is a good match for Micronet-equipped sailboats that need GPS-based speed and course data displayed at the helm, cockpit, or mast displays. It is especially useful on boats keeping an existing wireless instrument system in service while adding a dedicated GPS source for navigation and performance data.
