Overview

The Vimar Idea 16813 mounting frame is a 3-module flush-mounted frame with screws and an IP55 transparent elastic membrane cover for 3-module flush mounting boxes. It is made from thermoplastic and can be installed horizontally or vertically, which helps when panel space or switch layout on board calls for one orientation over the other.

This frame suits installations where the switch face needs protection from spray and dust without changing to a surface box. It is also suitable for a 60 mm round junction box and is intended for Classica cover plates except wood. The front size is about 122.4 x 86.2 mm, which helps when checking cutout area and surrounding trim before refit work.

Variants

This product is offered in two color configurations.

The variant change is the frame color. The 3-module format, screw fixing, IP55 membrane cover, flush-mounted layout, and horizontal or vertical mounting remain the same across the range.

• VM16813.Q - Color: Gray. This darker finish blends more quietly with darker switch surrounds, console panels, and trim.
• VM16813.Q.B - Color: Ivory. This lighter finish sits more softly with light-colored interiors and pale switch plate combinations.

Compatibility and fit

This frame is meant for flush-mounted installations and works with 3-module flush mounting boxes. It is not intended for wall duct systems, subfloor installation duct boxes, or DIN-rail mounting. Before ordering, it is worth checking the box format behind the panel and confirming that the cover plate used is from the Classica range, excluding wood versions.

On a boat, this type of frame makes sense where switches need a protected front face in places such as heads, galleys, cabins, and other sheltered areas that see spray, damp hands, or routine washdown nearby.
