Overview
The Garmin 010-11057-30 is an electronic control unit (ECU) power cable with a threaded-collar connector used to power a Garmin autopilot ECU during a GHP installation.
It runs from your boat’s battery or DC distribution to the ECU and gives you 2.5 m of length to route cleanly through lockers, consoles, or an equipment bay without putting tension on the connector.
This cable is intended for the Garmin GHP 12 Autopilot System and the Garmin GHP 20 Marine Autopilot System with SmartPump, where the ECU uses a threaded power connection.
Key features
- 2.5 m cable length for practical routing from the DC source to the ECU.
- Threaded-collar ECU connector to help keep the power connection tight after installation.
- Used as the battery-to-ECU power lead during Garmin GHP 12 and GHP 20 (with SmartPump) autopilot installs.
- Useful for replacements when the original power lead has been shortened, damaged, or removed during a refit.
- Supports clean rigging by letting you route the cable first and make the final ECU connection at the end.
Compatibility and fit
Confirm your autopilot system is a GHP 12 or a GHP 20 with SmartPump and that the ECU power port matches a threaded-collar plug. If your existing harness uses a different connector style, this cable will not seat correctly.
Installation and setup
Route the cable where it will stay protected from chafe. Use grommets through bulkheads, keep it clear of sharp edges, and leave a small service loop at the ECU so the connector is not carrying the cable’s weight.
Electrical and system integration
Connect the supply end to a clean DC feed from the battery or distribution panel and protect the circuit with the fuse or breaker value specified for your autopilot system. Verify polarity before powering up, and avoid sharing the feed with high-current loads that can introduce voltage drop.
Use cases on board
This cable is a practical match for new autopilot installs and for troubleshooting intermittent ECU power by swapping in a known-good power lead. It also suits boats where the ECU is mounted in a console, under a berth, or in an equipment locker and a full-length lead is needed to reach the DC source without splices.
Maintenance and care
After the first few outings, recheck cable routing and the threaded collar to make sure nothing has loosened. Inspect the run seasonally for abrasion points and resecure or replace the cable if the jacket shows wear.
