Overview
The Victron Energy SCC950300210 is an MPPT WireBox-L Tr accessory for Victron SmartSolar MPPT charge controllers in the 150/60, 150/70, 250/60 and 250/70 Tr range. It fits over the DC terminal area of the solar charger, adding a physical cover around the wiring connections where battery and PV conductors are landed.
On a boat, this kind of cover is useful when the charge controller is installed in a locker, technical space, lazarette, or another area where crew may access gear near live DC terminals. It helps reduce accidental contact with terminal screws while keeping the installation neater and easier to inspect.
Key features
- Made for Victron SmartSolar MPPT Tr charge controllers in the 150/60, 150/70, 250/60 and 250/70 range.
- Covers the DC terminal area to help reduce accidental contact with terminal screws.
- Useful for marine electrical installations where the solar charger is mounted in an accessible locker or service area.
- Helps keep PV and battery wiring better guarded after installation.
- Accessory cover only, for use with a compatible Victron MPPT solar charge controller.
Compatibility and fit
This WireBox is intended for the larger Tr style Victron MPPT controllers listed above. Before ordering, match the solar charger model printed on your existing unit to the compatible 150/60, 150/70, 250/60, or 250/70 Tr range. It is not a charge controller and does not replace breakers, fuses, disconnects, or other required DC protection in the solar circuit.
Installation and use on board
The cover is most relevant where the MPPT solar charger is not hidden behind a closed electrical panel. In typical boat installations, that may include an engine room bulkhead, battery compartment area, utility locker, or electronics space used for service access. After the PV and battery wiring are terminated correctly, the WireBox helps shield the exposed terminal zone from hands, tools, stored gear, and casual contact during inspections.
Leave enough working space around the controller for cable bends, ventilation, and later maintenance. As with any marine DC installation, wiring should be supported, protected from chafe, and installed according to the vessel electrical plan.
