Overview
The TACO Marine A11-0151TAL12D is a 3/4-inch by 3/8-inch aluminum rub rail for protecting a boat’s hull edge, deck joint, or seam line while keeping the clean look of polished metal. It is supplied in a 12-foot length with a polished clear anodized finish, making it a practical match for refit work, rub rail replacement, and seam protection on fiberglass boats.
This profile works as aluminum edge molding and seam binding, so it can cover vulnerable edges and help take the scuffs that happen around docks, trailers, pilings, and raft-ups. The rail is drilled and countersunk for #8 screws on 6-inch centers, which helps keep fastener spacing consistent during installation.
Key features
3/4-inch height and 3/8-inch width for a low-profile aluminum rub rail installation.
12-foot length for repairs, replacements, and longer continuous runs along the hull or deck edge.
Polished clear anodized finish helps the aluminum stand up to marine exposure while maintaining a classic metal appearance.
Drilled and countersunk for #8 screws on 6-inch centers, reducing layout work during installation.
Aluminum edge molding and seam binder profile helps protect exposed joints and trim lines.
Can be formed to a tight radius when handled with the right bending method and installation care.
Made for use without a separate rub rail insert, keeping the installation simple and clean.
Installation and setup
Use this rail where the boat has the correct 3/4-inch by 3/8-inch profile and where an aluminum rub rail without an insert is the right match for the existing trim. Before drilling or fastening, dry-fit the length along the mounting line and check how the rail sits through curves, corners, and transom transitions.
The pre-drilled and countersunk holes are spaced for #8 screws on 6-inch centers. On older boats, existing holes may not align exactly, so check the substrate and repair or seal previous fastener holes as needed before final installation. Proper bedding and sealing around fasteners are important in wet areas, especially around the hull-to-deck joint.
Fit and use on board
This aluminum rub rail is a good fit for boat owners and yards replacing worn edge trim, restoring a classic metal rub rail look, or adding protection to an exposed seam. It is useful on boats that see regular docking, trailering, and contact with fenders or pilings, where the rail needs to take everyday abrasion before the hull side does.
The polished clear anodized finish gives the rail a bright metal appearance that works well on traditional runabouts, fishing boats, small cruisers, and other vessels using aluminum trim rather than vinyl insert-style rub rail systems.
Maintenance and care
Rinse the rail with fresh water after saltwater use and wash it with mild boat soap during routine cleaning. Avoid aggressive abrasives that can dull the anodized surface. During seasonal checks, inspect the fasteners and sealant line so the rail stays tight and the joint underneath remains protected.

Product warranty
Product warranty
Many products sold by Apollo Lighting include a manufacturer's warranty covering defects in materials or workmanship. Warranty terms vary by brand, product category, and model, so eligibility, coverage duration, exclusions, and available remedies are determined by the applicable manufacturer. We recommend reviewing the warranty information provided with your product before installation or use, especially for marine electronics, navigation equipment, lighting, electrical systems, pumps, safety equipment, and other specialized marine products.
If you need warranty service, the claim must follow the process established by the manufacturer, authorized service center, or designated warranty provider. You may be asked for proof of purchase, a serial number, product registration, photos, maintenance or installation records, or other documentation. Apollo Lighting does not determine or modify a manufacturer's warranty coverage or final claim decision, but we are happy to help provide purchase information and direct you to the appropriate manufacturer or warranty resource.
Keep your receipt, product documentation, serial number information, and original packaging when practical. Damage caused by normal wear, misuse, improper installation, insufficient maintenance, corrosion, impact, unauthorized modifications, electrical issues, or operation outside the manufacturer's specifications may not be covered. Warranty claims are separate from standard returns, so a product that has been installed, used, or exposed to marine conditions may no longer qualify for return while still remaining eligible for evaluation under the manufacturer's applicable warranty.
