Overview
The TACO Marine A11-0347BLY12D is a brite anodized aluminum rub rail for replacing or finishing the hull-to-deck edge on boats where a classic metal rail and separate vinyl insert are preferred.
This profile measures 1-1/8 inches high by 5/8 inch wide and is supplied in a 12 foot length. It is drilled and countersunk for #8 screws on 6 inch centers, which helps keep fastener spacing consistent along the sheer line during installation.
The rail is made from aluminum with a brite anodized finish for use in the marine environment. It accepts the TACO Marine V12-4155 flexible vinyl insert, sold separately, so the finished rub rail can cover the fastener heads and add a cushioning surface along docks, pilings, and rafting points.
Key features
Aluminum rub rail profile sized at 1-1/8 inches high by 5/8 inch wide for hull and deck joint coverage.
Supplied in a 12 foot length for longer rub rail runs and replacement work.
Brite anodized finish helps the metal surface hold up in saltwater, spray, sun, and regular washdowns.
Pre-drilled and countersunk for #8 screws on 6 inch centers to simplify layout and fastening.
Formable profile can be bent around tight radius areas common at bows and transom corners.
Accepts V12-4155 flexible vinyl insert, sold separately, to hide fasteners and add impact cushioning.
Suited for many 16 to 24 foot boats that use a narrow aluminum rub rail with a vinyl insert.
Compatibility and fit
This rub rail is a practical match for owners replacing a similar aluminum profile or restoring a boat that originally used an aluminum rail with a separate vinyl insert. The main fit checks are the 1-1/8 inch height, 5/8 inch width, 12 foot section length, #8 screw pattern, and V12-4155 insert compatibility.
Before ordering, compare the existing rail shape and measurements on the boat, including how the rail sits over the hull-to-deck joint. Aluminum rub rail is not universal by brand or hull shape, so the profile and insert style matter as much as the overall length.
Installation and setup
The pre-drilled holes reduce layout work, but the hull should still be checked for backing, old hole locations, and fair alignment before fastening. On replacement jobs, dry fitting the rail first helps confirm the bend around the bow and any corner transitions before sealant and final screws are applied.
The vinyl insert should be installed after the aluminum rail is fastened. Because the insert is sold separately, it should be matched to the V12-4155 profile and ordered in enough length to cover the finished run.
Use on board
This rail works well for small and mid-size powerboats, fishing boats, runabouts, and restorations where the rub rail needs to protect the hull edge while keeping the bright aluminum look. It is especially useful where the boat sees dock contact, fender movement, trailer handling, and routine washdowns.

Product warranty
Product warranty
Many products sold by Apollo Lighting include a manufacturer's warranty covering defects in materials or workmanship. Warranty terms vary by brand, product category, and model, so eligibility, coverage duration, exclusions, and available remedies are determined by the applicable manufacturer. We recommend reviewing the warranty information provided with your product before installation or use, especially for marine electronics, navigation equipment, lighting, electrical systems, pumps, safety equipment, and other specialized marine products.
If you need warranty service, the claim must follow the process established by the manufacturer, authorized service center, or designated warranty provider. You may be asked for proof of purchase, a serial number, product registration, photos, maintenance or installation records, or other documentation. Apollo Lighting does not determine or modify a manufacturer's warranty coverage or final claim decision, but we are happy to help provide purchase information and direct you to the appropriate manufacturer or warranty resource.
Keep your receipt, product documentation, serial number information, and original packaging when practical. Damage caused by normal wear, misuse, improper installation, insufficient maintenance, corrosion, impact, unauthorized modifications, electrical issues, or operation outside the manufacturer's specifications may not be covered. Warranty claims are separate from standard returns, so a product that has been installed, used, or exposed to marine conditions may no longer qualify for return while still remaining eligible for evaluation under the manufacturer's applicable warranty.
