Description

Overview

The Blue Sea Systems 2709 is a snap-on cover for the Blue Sea Systems 2701 DualBus 100A bus bar. It measures 4-3/16 in. long, 7/8 in. high, and 2-1/2 in. wide, so it matches the 2701 footprint and adds a protective layer over the terminal area without taking up much extra space.

This cover leaves wire access open while helping reduce accidental contact with the terminal studs. On boats where the bus bar sits behind a helm, inside an electrical locker, or under a console, that extra protection is useful during wiring, inspection, and routine service.

The housing is polycarbonate and the piece weighs about 0.03 lb, so it is easy to handle during installation. This is a fit-specific accessory rather than a universal cover, and the key compatibility point is the Blue Sea Systems 2701 DualBus.

Key features
  • Made to fit the Blue Sea Systems 2701 DualBus 100A bus bar
  • Snap-on design mounts over the terminal studs
  • Leaves wire access open for routing and service work
  • Helps reduce accidental contact around exposed bus connections
  • Polycarbonate construction
  • Compact size at 4-3/16 in. x 2-1/2 in. x 7/8 in.
  • Lightweight part at about 0.03 lb
Compatibility and fit

Use this cover when your distribution point is a Blue Sea Systems 2701 DualBus. It is not a general bus bar shield for other stud layouts or terminal counts. In refit work, that matters because the 2701 combines positive and negative buses on one block, and this cover follows that specific layout.

Installation and setup

The cover snaps onto the terminal studs after the bus bar has been mounted and wired. Leave enough clearance above the bus bar for the cover height and for the wire bend coming off the terminals. That keeps the cover seated properly and makes later inspection easier.

Use on board

This part makes sense on boats that use a compact distribution point in a console, cabin locker, electronics space, or other protected electrical area where hands and tools may come close to the bus bar during service. It is a good match for owners and installers who want a neater finish around the 2701 and more separation around exposed terminals without changing the bus layout itself.

After your return is received and inspected, approved refunds are issued to the original payment method and may take 5-7 business days to appear after processing. Original shipping and handling charges are nonrefundable, and the value of any included free items that are not returned may be deducted from the refund. Apollo Lighting does not charge a standard restocking fee on eligible returns. Returns that are incomplete, damaged, installed, used, altered, improperly packaged, or otherwise do not meet the eligibility requirements may be refused. We recommend using a trackable and appropriately insured shipping service for all customer-arranged returns.

Product warranty

Many products sold by Apollo Lighting include a manufacturer's warranty covering defects in materials or workmanship. Warranty terms vary by brand, product category, and model, so eligibility, coverage duration, exclusions, and available remedies are determined by the applicable manufacturer. We recommend reviewing the warranty information provided with your product before installation or use, especially for marine electronics, navigation equipment, lighting, electrical systems, pumps, safety equipment, and other specialized marine products.

If you need warranty service, the claim must follow the process established by the manufacturer, authorized service center, or designated warranty provider. You may be asked for proof of purchase, a serial number, product registration, photos, maintenance or installation records, or other documentation. Apollo Lighting does not determine or modify a manufacturer's warranty coverage or final claim decision, but we are happy to help provide purchase information and direct you to the appropriate manufacturer or warranty resource.

Keep your receipt, product documentation, serial number information, and original packaging when practical. Damage caused by normal wear, misuse, improper installation, insufficient maintenance, corrosion, impact, unauthorized modifications, electrical issues, or operation outside the manufacturer's specifications may not be covered. Warranty claims are separate from standard returns, so a product that has been installed, used, or exposed to marine conditions may no longer qualify for return while still remaining eligible for evaluation under the manufacturer's applicable warranty.
