Description

Overview

The Attwood Marine Tsunami Replacement Cartridge is a 12V DC replacement motor cartridge for Attwood Tsunami Mk2 bilge and aerator pumps, offered in 500 GPH, 800 GPH, and 1200 GPH flow-rate versions. It is made for boat owners who need to restore an existing Tsunami pump without replacing the full pump body, plumbing, or mounting location.

This cartridge fits Tsunami Mk2 56 series pumps and is also used as a replacement cartridge for previous Tsunami Mk1 46 series models when matched to the same pump capacity. The X-Air impeller helps move trapped air out of the pump and pipework, which reduces the chance of air lock during bilge or livewell operation.

For a good fit, match the replacement cartridge to the pump’s flow rating: T500 for 500 GPH, T800 for 800 GPH, or T1200 for 1200 GPH. This matters on board because a mismatched cartridge can affect fit, flow, and serviceability.

Key features
  • Replacement motor cartridge for Attwood Tsunami Mk2 bilge and aerator pumps.
  • Available in 500 GPH, 800 GPH, and 1200 GPH versions to match the original pump capacity.
  • 12V DC operation for common small-boat and marine auxiliary pump circuits.
  • X-Air impeller helps eject trapped air from the pump and hose path to reduce air-lock problems.
  • Serviceable cartridge format lets the motor section be changed without removing the full pump installation.
  • Compatible with previous Tsunami cartridge-style models when the flow rating is matched correctly.
Variants

This product is offered in three flow-rate configurations for matching an existing Tsunami pump installation.

The flow rating changes between variants, while the replacement-cartridge purpose, 12V DC operation, and Tsunami Mk2 pump family application remain consistent across the range.

  • 5624-6: Flow Rate 1200 GPH (T1200). This version matches Tsunami T1200 pump setups where a higher-capacity bilge or aerator cartridge is required.
  • 5620-6: Flow Rate 500 GPH (T500). This version matches Tsunami T500 pump setups, often used where the plumbing and available space call for a lower-flow cartridge.
  • 5622-6: Flow Rate 800 GPH (T800). This version matches Tsunami T800 pump setups and sits between the 500 GPH and 1200 GPH options for mid-range flow needs.
Compatibility and fit

Match the cartridge by both Tsunami series and flow rating before installation. These cartridges are intended for Tsunami Mk2 56 series bilge and aerator pumps and can serve as replacements for earlier Tsunami Mk1 46 series cartridge pumps when the same capacity is used.

This is a motor cartridge, not a complete pump assembly. Existing pump bases, outlets, hoses, wiring, and switches should be inspected during replacement, especially in bilge areas where moisture, debris, and vibration can hide installation issues.

Installation and service

The cartridge format is useful in tight bilge spaces, livewell compartments, and under-deck locations because the service work focuses on the removable motor section rather than the entire pump body. Shut off power at the battery or breaker before working on the pump, confirm the circuit is 12V DC, and check that wiring, fuse protection, and hose routing are suitable for the pump size being serviced.

After installation, test the pump with water present and watch for steady discharge flow. A brief functional test at the dock helps confirm that the cartridge is seated, the hose is clear, and the pump is not fighting trapped air or debris.

Use cases on board

This replacement cartridge is a practical maintenance part for boats that already use Attwood Tsunami cartridge pumps in the bilge or aerator system. It suits routine pump service, restoring a weak or failed cartridge, or keeping a matching spare on board for fishing boats, tenders, runabouts, and small cruising vessels.

Product warranty

Many products sold by Apollo Lighting include a manufacturer's warranty covering defects in materials or workmanship. Warranty terms vary by brand, product category, and model, so eligibility, coverage duration, exclusions, and available remedies are determined by the applicable manufacturer. We recommend reviewing the warranty information provided with your product before installation or use, especially for marine electronics, navigation equipment, lighting, electrical systems, pumps, safety equipment, and other specialized marine products.

If you need warranty service, the claim must follow the process established by the manufacturer, authorized service center, or designated warranty provider. You may be asked for proof of purchase, a serial number, product registration, photos, maintenance or installation records, or other documentation. Apollo Lighting does not determine or modify a manufacturer's warranty coverage or final claim decision, but we are happy to help provide purchase information and direct you to the appropriate manufacturer or warranty resource.

Keep your receipt, product documentation, serial number information, and original packaging when practical. Damage caused by normal wear, misuse, improper installation, insufficient maintenance, corrosion, impact, unauthorized modifications, electrical issues, or operation outside the manufacturer's specifications may not be covered. Warranty claims are separate from standard returns, so a product that has been installed, used, or exposed to marine conditions may no longer qualify for return while still remaining eligible for evaluation under the manufacturer's applicable warranty.
