Description
Description
Overview
The Perko 0300 is a surface-mount dome light for boat interiors, available in three base and lens sizes with a polished chrome finish. It uses a clear polymer lens, a double-contact bayonet socket, and a push switch with a water-resistant boot, making it a practical cabin, berth, head, galley, or covered cockpit light where a low-profile round fixture is preferred.
This incandescent dome light ships with a 12V bulb and is also used in 24V and 32V installations when fitted with the proper replacement bulb for that system. Across the range, the base sizes run from 3-3/4 inches to 6 inches, with overall depths from 1-1/2 inches to 2 inches, so the right version depends on both the light spread needed and the available mounting space overhead or on a vertical surface.
Key features
- Surface-mount round dome light for marine interior spaces such as cabins, berths, heads, galleys, companionways, and covered helm areas.
- Polished chrome-plated zinc alloy housing with a clear polymer lens for a traditional brightwork look inside the boat.
- Double-contact bayonet socket for incandescent bulb service and straightforward bulb replacement.
- Push switch includes a water-resistant boot for easier control in damp cabin and cockpit environments.
- Black vinyl mounting gasket helps the fixture sit cleanly against the mounting surface.
- Supplied for 12V use with bulb wattage and maximum wattage varying by size.
Variants
This dome light is offered in three size configurations. The base diameter, lens diameter, depth, bulb wattage, maximum wattage, and screw size vary by version.
The polished chrome finish, clear polymer lens, double-contact bayonet socket, black vinyl mounting gasket, and push switch with water-resistant boot remain consistent across these configurations.
- 0300DP0CHR: 3-3/4-inch base with 3-inch lens. This is the smallest version, with a 1-1/2-inch overall depth, a 7W supplied bulb, an 11W maximum wattage, and #10 round-head screw mounting.
- 0300DP1CHR: 5-inch base with 4-inch lens. This mid-size version has a 1-7/8-inch overall depth, an 11W supplied bulb, a 17W maximum wattage, and #10 round-head screw mounting.
- 0300DP2CHR: 6-inch base with 5-inch lens. This is the largest version, with a 2-inch overall depth, a 17W supplied bulb, a 17W maximum wattage, and #12 round-head screw mounting.
Installation and fit
Because this is a surface-mount fixture, it is suited to flat interior mounting areas where cutting a large recess is not desired. Check the base diameter, overall depth, and screw size before replacing an older dome light, especially on headliners, wood trim, fiberglass liners, and bulkheads where existing holes may need to line up cleanly.
For electrical work, match the bulb to the vessel system voltage and protect the circuit according to the boat’s existing lighting layout. The supplied bulb is for 12V service, while 24V or 32V systems require the correct bulb for that voltage before the light is put into use.
Use cases on board
This fixture suits owners restoring classic interiors, replacing worn cabin lights, or adding a chrome-finished dome light in areas where a switched incandescent fixture is still preferred. The larger sizes make sense where a broader lens and higher wattage are useful, while the smallest version works well in tighter spaces where overhead clearance and base diameter matter.
Maintenance and care
Use a soft cloth and mild cleaner on the chrome-plated surface and lens. Avoid abrasive pads or harsh chemicals, since they can dull the finish and mark the polymer lens over time. Periodic checks of the switch boot, mounting screws, gasket, and bulb contact area are worthwhile on boats that see frequent humidity, salt air, and vibration.

Product warranty
Product warranty
Many products sold by Apollo Lighting include a manufacturer's warranty covering defects in materials or workmanship. Warranty terms vary by brand, product category, and model, so eligibility, coverage duration, exclusions, and available remedies are determined by the applicable manufacturer. We recommend reviewing the warranty information provided with your product before installation or use, especially for marine electronics, navigation equipment, lighting, electrical systems, pumps, safety equipment, and other specialized marine products.
If you need warranty service, the claim must follow the process established by the manufacturer, authorized service center, or designated warranty provider. You may be asked for proof of purchase, a serial number, product registration, photos, maintenance or installation records, or other documentation. Apollo Lighting does not determine or modify a manufacturer's warranty coverage or final claim decision, but we are happy to help provide purchase information and direct you to the appropriate manufacturer or warranty resource.
Keep your receipt, product documentation, serial number information, and original packaging when practical. Damage caused by normal wear, misuse, improper installation, insufficient maintenance, corrosion, impact, unauthorized modifications, electrical issues, or operation outside the manufacturer's specifications may not be covered. Warranty claims are separate from standard returns, so a product that has been installed, used, or exposed to marine conditions may no longer qualify for return while still remaining eligible for evaluation under the manufacturer's applicable warranty.
