Description

Overview

The Raymarine RVM-400 Series is a family of RealVision MAX stainless steel through-hull transducers for Axiom 2 Pro RVM chartplotters and RVM1600 sonar modules. The range covers 0°, 12°, and 20° offset installations, giving boat owners a way to match the transducer to hull deadrise instead of forcing a one-size-fits-all fit.

These transducers support RealVision MAX 3D, SideVision, DownVision, and 600 W High CHIRP sonar at 200 kHz. They also include AHRS stabilization to help keep 3D sonar imagery steady as the boat moves, along with a fast-response water temperature sensor for live temperature readings at the hull.

The stainless steel through-hull body suits fiberglass, wood, and metal hulls, while the low-profile shape helps reduce drag and turbulence under the boat. Physical sizing is shared across the series at 424.69 mm long and 79.64 mm wide with the high speed nose cone fitted.

Key features
  • RealVision MAX sonar with 3D, SideVision, DownVision, and conical High CHIRP channels for fishfinding and bottom detail.
  • 600 W High CHIRP output at 200 kHz for use with compatible Raymarine sonar systems.
  • Built-in AHRS stabilization helps compensate for vessel motion in RealVision 3D views.
  • Fast-response water temperature sensing gives live temperature data from the transducer location.
  • Stainless steel through-hull body is suitable for fiberglass, wood, and metal hull installations.
  • Waterproof ratings include IPx6 for exterior hull surfaces plus IPx7 and IPx8 protection.
  • Compatible with Raymarine Axiom 2 Pro RVM chartplotters and RVM1600 sonar modules.
  • Available in 0°, 12°, and 20° offset configurations to match different hull deadrise ranges.
Variants

The product is offered in three configurations based on offset angle and hull deadrise. The 0° version is a single all-in-one transducer, while the 12° and 20° versions are port and starboard transducer packs with tilted elements.

The stainless steel through-hull mount, RealVision MAX sonar platform, and core sonar channels are consistent across the range. Cable setup varies by configuration, with the single RVM-400 using an 8 m cable and the RVM-412 and RVM-420 packs using 2 m transducer leads with an 8 m extension cable for a 10 m total run.

  • A80704, Offset 0°. This RVM-400 configuration is for through-hull locations with less than 5° hull deadrise and uses a single all-in-one transducer body.
  • T70543, Offset 12°. This RVM-412 transducer pack is for boats with 5° to 15° of deadrise and uses port and starboard transducers with 12° tilted elements.
  • T70544, Offset 20°. This RVM-420 transducer pack is for boats with 15° to 25° of deadrise and uses port and starboard transducers with 20° tilted elements.
Installation and fit

This is a through-hull transducer range, so hull thickness, access inside the bilge, cable routing, and the selected mounting position all matter before installation. The low-profile body is a good match for owners who want RealVision MAX sonar without the extra drag and turbulence associated with a fairing-block installation.

The 12° and 20° packs use tilted offset sonar elements inside their housings so the beam pattern can sit correctly on deadrise hulls. That is especially useful on inboard and outboard powerboats where a clean sonar view depends on both location and angle, not just the display or sonar module.

Compatibility and system integration

The RVM-400 Series connects into Raymarine systems built around Axiom 2 Pro RVM chartplotters or the RVM1600 sonar module. It is not a generic NMEA transducer, so the matching Raymarine sonar hardware should be confirmed before purchase.

For cable planning, allow for an 8 m run on the A80704 configuration. The T70543 and T70544 packs use two 2 m transducer cables, a Y-cable harness, and an 8 m extension cable, giving a 10 m total cable path from the transducer pair toward the sonar equipment.

Use cases on board

This series suits powerboats that need through-hull RealVision MAX sonar for fishing, coastal cruising, and offshore runs where bottom detail, side coverage, and a stable 3D view are useful at the helm. It is a strong fit for owners upgrading a Raymarine sonar system and choosing the offset angle around the actual deadrise at the mounting point.

Maintenance and care

Like any through-hull transducer, the face should be kept clean so growth, paint buildup, or debris does not block sonar returns. Use antifouling paint only where suitable for transducers, and avoid coating or cleaning methods that could damage the transducer face, cable, or sealing surfaces.

Product warranty

Many products sold by Apollo Lighting include a manufacturer's warranty covering defects in materials or workmanship. Warranty terms vary by brand, product category, and model, so eligibility, coverage duration, exclusions, and available remedies are determined by the applicable manufacturer. We recommend reviewing the warranty information provided with your product before installation or use, especially for marine electronics, navigation equipment, lighting, electrical systems, pumps, safety equipment, and other specialized marine products.

If you need warranty service, the claim must follow the process established by the manufacturer, authorized service center, or designated warranty provider. You may be asked for proof of purchase, a serial number, product registration, photos, maintenance or installation records, or other documentation. Apollo Lighting does not determine or modify a manufacturer's warranty coverage or final claim decision, but we are happy to help provide purchase information and direct you to the appropriate manufacturer or warranty resource.

Keep your receipt, product documentation, serial number information, and original packaging when practical. Damage caused by normal wear, misuse, improper installation, insufficient maintenance, corrosion, impact, unauthorized modifications, electrical issues, or operation outside the manufacturer's specifications may not be covered. Warranty claims are separate from standard returns, so a product that has been installed, used, or exposed to marine conditions may no longer qualify for return while still remaining eligible for evaluation under the manufacturer's applicable warranty.
