Overview
The TACO Marine V21-0874WHA18 is a rigid vinyl spray rail for reducing hull spray and helping keep the boat drier underway. It measures 18 ft long and comes in Arctic White, with a profile listed at 2-1/8 in x 1-1/2 in for use along the hull where spray needs to be redirected away from the deck, cockpit, windshield, or passengers.
This rail suits boats where spray control matters, including center consoles, fishing boats, cruisers, ski boats, flats boats, bass boats, and work boats. Its contoured shape helps deflect water away from the boat and can add lift as the hull runs, which is especially useful on wet-running hulls or boats used in choppy coastal conditions.
Key features
- Rigid vinyl construction for a spray rail that can handle regular marine use without requiring a separate insert.
- 18 ft length in Arctic White for a clean match on many white hulls and topside installations.
- 2-1/8 in x 1-1/2 in profile gives the rail enough shape to redirect spray while staying practical for hull-side mounting.
- Helps reduce wetness on board by directing spray away from seating areas, windshields, and working deck space.
- Can be cut and drilled with standard woodworking tools, which helps during fitting and end trimming.
- Drilled and countersunk for #10 screws on 6 in centers, making fastener layout straightforward during installation.
- Requires heat for radius forming, an important detail when fitting it around curved sections of the hull.
- Made in the USA and backed by a 5-year limited warranty.
Installation and setup
This spray rail is intended for direct hull mounting, so careful positioning matters before drilling. The rail should follow the section of the hull where spray begins to climb or throw outward, with the final placement checked against the boat's running surface, hull shape, and existing trim or rub rail layout.
Because it is rigid vinyl, straight runs are the simplest fit. For curves or radius sections, heat is needed to form the rail without forcing the profile. Trimming and drilling can be handled with common woodworking tools, but all cuts, pilot holes, fasteners, and sealant choices should be matched to the hull material and the boatbuilder's installation practice.
Use on board
This rail is a practical upgrade for boats that run wet in chop, throw spray into the cockpit, or soak forward seating at speed. It is also useful on work boats and fishing boats where a drier deck improves comfort and visibility during long days on the water.
