Overview
The TACO Marine V21-9681WHC20D is a Frosty White rigid vinyl rub rail for replacing or fitting perimeter protection on 18 ft to 30 ft boats. It measures 2-1/8 in high by 1-3/8 in wide and is supplied in a 20 ft length, giving builders and owners a clean profile for the hull-to-deck joint, gunwale, or sheer line.
This rub rail is drilled and countersunk for #10 screws on 8 in centers, which helps keep installation spacing consistent along straight runs. It pairs with the TACO Marine S11-4650 stainless steel insert, sold separately, for a finished rub rail assembly with a bright insert face over the vinyl base.
The rigid vinyl profile can be cut and drilled with standard woodworking tools. Heat is required when forming the rail around radius sections, so it is best handled as a planned replacement or refit job rather than a quick cosmetic trim change at the dock.
Key features
- 2-1/8 in height and 1-3/8 in width for a substantial rub rail profile on small to mid-size boats.
- 20 ft rigid vinyl length in Frosty White for matching light-colored hulls and deck lines.
- Drilled and countersunk for #10 screws on 8 in centers to support even fastener spacing during installation.
- Works with S11-4650 stainless steel insert, sold separately, to complete the rub rail assembly.
- Rigid vinyl construction can be cut and drilled with standard woodworking tools during fitting.
- Heat forming is required for radius bends, which is important for bow corners and curved transom areas.
- Made in the USA and backed by a 5-year limited warranty.
Installation and fit
For a clean replacement, compare the existing rail profile to the 2-1/8 in by 1-3/8 in dimensions before ordering. The profile should be matched carefully around the boat, especially at the bow, transom corners, and any areas where the original rail covers the hull-to-deck joint.
Because this is a rigid vinyl rail, straight runs are straightforward to align, while curved sections need controlled heat and steady pressure to form the shape without stressing the material. Pre-checking screw locations, backing structure, and the condition of the old fastener holes will help the new rail sit evenly against the hull.
Insert compatibility
This rail requires the S11-4650 insert to complete the finished assembly. The insert is not part of the vinyl rail itself, so it should be planned as a separate component when the job calls for a full rub rail replacement rather than only the base profile.
Use on board
This rub rail is a practical match for owners repairing worn perimeter trim, refitting a production boat, or replacing a damaged section after dock contact. The Frosty White finish works well where a light rub rail is needed to blend with the hull, deck, or existing trim scheme.
