Overview
The Perko 0625DP0STS is a horizontal-mount LED bi-color navigation light for power-driven vessels under 20 meters, giving the bow a combined red and green running light in one low-profile unit. It is built around 12 Volt LED modules with a 2.5 watt draw and 0.21 amp current rating, making it a practical fit for small powerboats, center consoles, runabouts, and other boats that need compliant forward navigation lighting without adding much electrical load.
The housing uses a polished stainless steel top over a black polymer base, so it suits exposed deck and bow installations where the fixture may see spray, washdowns, sun, and regular foot traffic nearby. The compact body measures 2-1/2 inches long by 2-3/4 inches wide by 1 inch high, which helps keep the light low on the deck while still keeping the red and green sectors visible from the proper approach angles.
This light is 2-mile USCG certified and meets a wide set of navigation light standards, including ABYC C-5, ABYC A-16, EN/ISO 19009:2015, 1972 COLREGS, RCD 2013/53/EU, and NMMA Type Accepted requirements. It is also listed for use in both USA and European markets, which is useful when replacing a bow light on a boat that may travel, be resold, or need documentation-friendly lighting hardware.
Key features
- Bi-color LED bow light combines red and green navigation sectors in one horizontal-mount fixture.
- Certified for power-driven vessels under 20 meters, equal to 65.6 feet.
- 2-mile USCG 2nm certification supports compliant night running and low-visibility operation.
- 12 Volt LED operation with 2.5 watt power draw and 0.21 amp current rating for low load on the boat electrical system.
- Polished stainless steel top with black polymer base gives the light a clean deck appearance and practical exposed-location construction.
- Low-profile body measures 2-1/2 inches by 2-3/4 inches by 1 inch for bow and foredeck mounting where height matters.
- Uses #6 mounting screws, helping installers plan hardware and deck preparation before replacement or new installation.
- Footprint perimeter matches Perko 0615 and 0616 LED lights, though wiring hole and screw locations may vary.
- Meets ABYC C-5, ABYC A-16, EN/ISO 19009:2015, 1972 COLREGS, RCD 2013/53/EU, and NMMA Type Accepted requirements.
Installation and fit
This light is meant for a horizontal surface at the bow, with the red and green sectors facing the correct directions for underway navigation. Before drilling or reusing existing holes, check the mounting surface, wire exit, and screw pattern against the current light, especially when replacing older Perko 0615 or 0616 units, since the perimeter may match while the wire and screw locations can differ.
Because it uses #6 screws and has a small base, it works well where there is limited flat space on the foredeck or bow cap. The mounting area should be solid enough to hold the fixture tightly and positioned so rails, anchors, trolling motor brackets, pulpit hardware, or canvas do not block the required light sectors.
Electrical and compliance
The 12 Volt LED configuration is suited to standard 12V DC boat electrical systems. Its low current draw helps reduce load compared with older incandescent navigation lights, but it should still be wired through the boat navigation light circuit with appropriate protection and corrosion-aware marine wiring practices.
For compliance, this is a bow navigation light for power-driven vessels under 20 meters, not an all-round light, stern light, masthead light, or anchor light. It should be used as part of a complete navigation light setup that matches the vessel type, length, and operating rules.
Use cases on board
This light is a strong match for boat owners replacing a worn or outdated bow light, upgrading from an incandescent fixture, or fitting out a smaller powerboat that needs a low-profile LED bi-color light. It is especially useful on open decks and bow areas where a raised fixture would be more exposed to lines, dock work, anchor handling, or general movement around the boat.
