Overview
The Lumitec 101605 is an Aurora flush-mount LED dome light that switches between white and red output with dimming from the built-in bezel control. It runs on 10-30 VDC and is sealed to an IP67 rating, so it can handle damp cabins, spray, and routine washdowns. White mode output is 180 lumens at 5000K, with a rated draw of 345 mA at 12V (210 mA at 24V).
The 4.00 in (10.16 cm) face and 0.73 in (1.84 cm) depth work well where headliner clearance is tight, including berth areas, pilothouses, console interiors, and under hardtops. Red mode is useful when you want light that keeps night vision intact for early departures, dock checks, or running in the dark.
Key features
- Dual-color output (white and red) with dimming built into the bezel control
- 10-30 VDC input for 12V and 24V DC systems
- IP67-rated sealed light for wet environments and exposed mounting spots
- White output: 180 lumens at 5000K
- Power draw: 345 mA at 12V, 210 mA at 24V (4 W rated)
- Flush-mount footprint with 4.00 in (10.16 cm) diameter and 0.73 in (1.84 cm) depth
- Simple 2-wire hookup
- Operating temperature range: -31 to 131 F (-35 to 55 C)
Installation and setup
This light installs as a low-profile flush mount and only needs a 2-wire feed from your boat lighting circuit. Plan for a 1/2 in wiring pass-through and use marine-grade connections with heat-shrink sealing, especially in damp overhead locations.
For outdoor or semi-exposed installs, bedding the fasteners and any penetrations helps keep water out of the core and headliner. The shallow body depth makes it a good fit in hardtops and cabin liners where you do not have much space behind the panel.
Electrical and control notes
Color selection and dimming are handled at the bezel, so the light is typically run from a standard switched supply rather than an external dimmer module. If your boat has existing dome light wiring, this is a straightforward swap as long as the circuit is within the 10-30 VDC range.
Use on board
This is a good match for cruisers and fishing boats that want one fixture to cover normal cabin lighting and a red night mode without adding separate switches. It is commonly used over berths, in heads, under T-tops, in pilothouses, and inside consoles where you want a clean flush look.
Maintenance and care
Rinse salt residue when needed and wipe with mild soap and water. Avoid harsh solvents on the lens and finish, and check wiring connections periodically in high-vibration areas.
