Overview
The Perko 0946DP112V is a flush-mount stern navigation light for boats with a nominal 12 VDC system. It uses a chrome-plated brass bezel with a black polymer base, a clear lens, and an included 12-volt bulb.
This stern light is certified for sail or power driven vessels under 20 meters (65.6 ft.) in length with 2-mile visibility. Its compact round housing measures 3 inches outside diameter, 1 inch deep, and 1-15/16 inches high, so it suits installations where a low-profile light is needed on a vertical aft surface.
Key features
- Flush-mount stern light for a vertical mounting surface facing astern
- 12-volt bulb included with 10-watt load and 0.74-amp draw
- Chrome-plated brass bezel with black polymer base
- USCG 2-mile certified for sail or power driven vessels under 20 meters
- 3 inch outside diameter with 1 inch mounting depth
- Uses #8 fasteners for installation
Compatibility and fit
This light belongs in the stern position of a standard navigation-light setup and is a practical match for boats that use a fixed hard-wired aft light instead of a removable pole light. It works well on small cruisers, center consoles, runabouts, and sailboats where the mounting area is vertical and space behind the panel is limited.
Before ordering, check the outside footprint, the 1 inch depth behind the mounting surface, and the fastener size at the existing location. That is especially important when replacing an older flush stern light on a transom, aft coaming, or cockpit bulkhead.
Installation and setup
The housing is meant to sit flush on a vertical surface that is square to the boat's centerline and faces aft. On a 12-volt navigation-light circuit, this keeps the light in the correct stern position without adding a bracket or pole base above deck level.
For boats that live in saltwater, proper bedding around the mounting surface and clean wire terminations matter as much as the light itself. Keeping the lens clean and the bezel free of corrosion buildup helps maintain clear output during night running and low-light returns to the dock.
