Overview

The Lopolight 301-002 Series is a 2 NM LED port sidelight that shows a 112.5° red sector from a vertical mount. These 6 m pre-cabled versions run on 10-32 VDC, so they fit both 12 V and 24 V systems, and they draw 1.2 W (90 mA at 12 V, 50 mA at 24 V).

The housing is IP68-rated for exposed mounting on deck structures, and the body stays compact at 92.5 x 28 x 49.7 mm. It is approved to COLREG72 and EN14744, with additional approvals including IEC 60945, IACS E10, USCG, ABS, M.E.D., DNV, and LR, and it is rated for -25°C to 55°C operation.

This light is commonly specified for vessels in the 12-50 m range where 2 NM sidelights are required, and the longer lead helps when the connection point is deeper inside a pilothouse, bulwark, or hardtop.

Variants

This port sidelight is offered in two finish options while keeping the same light function: 2 NM red port sector, vertical mount, and a 6 m cable.

The finish is what changes between variants. Electrical input (10-32 VDC), IP68 rating, and the physical size remain consistent across the two configurations.

• 301-002-6M: Finish: Silver. A straightforward match for bright metal trim and unpainted aluminum structures.
• 301-002-B-6M: Finish: Black. A cleaner look on darker topsides, pilothouse sides, and hardtops.

Installation and setup

Mount the light on the port side on a vertical surface with a clear view across the required arc. Keep the lens sector unobstructed by rails, canvas, or deck gear, and seal fastener penetrations as you would for any deck-mounted fitting. The supplied M6 screws suit many common mounting pads and brackets, but the mounting surface needs enough backing to handle vibration and flex.

Electrical and system integration

Wire it to a 10-32 VDC navigation-light circuit and route the lead where it will not chafe. The minimum feed wire gauge is 0.5 mm2 (AWG 22), and longer overall runs may call for heavier conductors depending on your panel location and routing. Make splices in a dry area or in a sealed junction, and leave a drip loop where the cable enters the structure.

Materials and corrosion resistance

The housing uses anodized aluminum (25 µ) with a PMMA lens and A4 stainless hardware, and the assembly is rated IP68. On saltwater boats, a fresh-water rinse around the lens and fasteners helps keep the finish looking clean and avoids salt buildup at the mounting points.

Use cases on board

This is a practical fit for pilothouse boats, larger center consoles, and sailing yachts where the sidelight mounts on a cabin side or bulwark and the wiring needs extra length to reach inside. It also works well on refits where you want a compact housing and a known 2 NM sector without changing the mounting style.
