Overview
The Victron Energy BPP900600100 is a VE.Can resistive tank sender adapter that connects a standard resistive tank level sender to a Color Control GX monitoring setup. It works with European 0-180 Ohm senders and United States 240-30 Ohm senders, giving boat owners a practical way to bring fuel, fresh water, wastewater, oil, live well, or black water tank readings into the Victron monitoring network.
This adapter is useful when the boat already has resistive tank senders installed and the goal is to view tank levels through the VE.Can system rather than adding separate gauges at the helm or electrical panel. Accuracy is rated at ±1%, the unit runs from a 9 to 70 VDC input range, and power consumption is under 50 mA.
The housing is ABS and sealed to IP67, which suits equipment spaces where spray, humidity, and washdown exposure are part of normal marine life. For boats with more than one tank of the same type, multiple adapters can be added on the same VE.Can network, with each tank assigned its own instance using the rotary switch.
Key features
- Connects a standard resistive tank level sender to a Victron VE.Can monitoring network.
- Supports European 0-180 Ohm and United States 240-30 Ohm sender standards.
- Rated accuracy of ±1% for tank level measurement.
- Tank type selection covers fuel, fresh water, wastewater, oil, live well, and black water applications.
- Two RJ45 VE.Can sockets allow the adapter to be added in a daisy chained network.
- Two rotary switches handle sender type and tank instance setup without requiring a separate programming display.
- Supports up to 16 tanks of the same tank type on one VE.Can network when using multiple adapters.
- ABS housing is sealed to IP67 for use in damp marine installation areas.
- Operates from 9 to 70 VDC with power use below 50 mA.
Installation and setup
The adapter connects to the VE.Can network using a standard straight RJ45 cable. It has two RJ45 sockets, so it can sit in line with other VE.Can equipment in a daisy chained installation. The VE.Can network must be terminated at both ends and must have power available for the adapter to operate.
The resistive sender wires connect to the spring loaded terminals on the adapter. The tank sender itself is not included, so the existing sender on the boat should be checked for sender standard and condition before installation. The left rotary switch selects the sender standard and tank type, while the other rotary switch assigns the tank instance for systems with more than one tank.
Compatibility and fit
This unit is meant for boats using resistive tank level senders in either the 0-180 Ohm European range or the 240-30 Ohm United States range. It is a good match for vessels that already rely on Victron VE.Can monitoring and need tank level information brought into the same view as the rest of the electrical system.
It is not a replacement for voltage or current type tank interfaces such as 0-10 V or 4-20 mA senders. Matching the sender type before purchase is important, especially on older boats where tanks may have been refitted or gauges changed over time.
Use cases on board
On cruising boats, fishing boats, and workboats, this adapter helps keep tank information visible alongside the rest of the onboard power data. Fuel level, water reserve, wastewater status, and live well level can be monitored from the Victron system instead of being split across separate analog gauges.
For larger installations with several tanks, each adapter is wired to its own sender and given a separate tank instance. This keeps readings organized when a vessel has multiple fuel tanks, divided water capacity, or separate waste tanks that need to be tracked independently.
