Overview

The Vimar VM14614 is a 4-module mounting frame with screws for Vimar Plana flush-mounted installations in rectangular 4-module mounting boxes. It is the support that holds the modular inserts steady so the finished switches or outlets sit square and do not shift when the boat is underway.

It can be fitted with the box oriented horizontally or vertically, and the modular inserts mount from the front side, which keeps service access straightforward from the cabin side of the panel.

The body is thermoplastic, so it will not rust behind interior panels. This frame is not intended for 60 mm round junction boxes and it is not a DIN-rail accessory.

Compatibility and fit

This is a 4-module frame in the Plana module system, covering four modules across in the common horizontal layout. It is intended for rectangular 4-module mounting boxes used in traditional flush-mounted wiring setups.

If you are matching parts across an existing boat refit, confirm you are working in the Plana series and that the mounting box is the 4-module rectangular type. It does not fit a standard 60 mm round box.

Installation and setup

Secure the frame to the mounting box with the supplied screws, then fit the modular inserts from the front side. Tighten evenly so the frame sits flat against the box and the finished devices line up cleanly at the panel face.

On boats, it is commonly installed in protected interior locations like the helm console, nav station, cabin bulkhead, or a covered equipment panel. Any water protection at exposed locations comes from the surrounding box, devices, and the front cover arrangement rather than the frame itself.

This frame is a straightforward fit when you are building out a 4-module Plana switch bank or replacing a cracked support so the modules stay firmly seated under vibration.
