Overview

The Vimar ARKÉ Series is an axial 1P 10AX 250V two-way switch range for modular flush-mounted switching points in protected interior spaces. It uses a lightable, replaceable button and is rated for two-way wiring, with a maximum 100 W load for lamps with built-in power units.

This is the kind of switch used when you want clean wall or panel integration and straightforward control of a lighting circuit from two locations. The axial format keeps the front clean, while the ARKÉ modular layout makes it easier to match the switch insert to the frame and finish already used on board.

For marine interiors, this range makes the most sense in cabins, companionways, galleys, or enclosed helm areas where the switch is protected from direct spray. With IP40 protection, it suits dry interior installations rather than exposed deck or washdown locations.

Variants

This range varies by finish and module width. Finish options are grey, Metal, and white, and each finish is offered in both 1 Module and 2 Modules, so the switch can be matched to the frame and cover-plate layout already used in the installation.

The switching function stays the same across the family: axial 1P two-way switching rated 10AX at 250V, with a lightable, replaceable button. Grey and white versions use a matte untreated surface, while the Metal versions use a matte lacquered surface.

Installation and fit

Before ordering, check the module count required by the surrounding ARKÉ support and cover plate. A 1 Module insert will not substitute for a 2 Modules insert, even though the electrical function is the same.

This switch is intended for flush-mounted installations and suits AC switching points where a compact modular insert is preferred over a larger standalone switch body. In a two-way circuit, it should be paired with the correct matching switching arrangement elsewhere in the run.

Use on board

This switch range is a good match for boats with finished interior spaces and modular AC control panels. It fits well in cabins, heads, saloons, and other sheltered areas where appearance matters and the switch needs to sit neatly within a coordinated plate system.

It is less suited to open cockpits, exterior bulkheads, or any location that sees regular spray, salt buildup, or washdowns. In those areas, a higher level of environmental protection is usually the better fit.
