Overview

The Garmin Navionics is an electronic chart region for Norway, covering Vestfjorden to Svalbard, made for use on compatible Garmin chartplotters.

This is the EU054R coverage area, labeled NSEU054R in Garmin Navionics+ and NVEU054R in Garmin Navionics Vision+. It is available either as a preloaded microSD/SD card or as a download you install to a microSD/SD card.

On the water, it supports shaded depth contours with depth range shading for up to 10 ranges, plus shallow water shading you set to your own safety depth. Contour detail can be shown in up to 1' increments where available, and Auto Guidance+ can calculate a suggested dock-to-dock path using your preferred depth and overhead clearance.

The main differences are the chart level (Garmin Navionics+ vs Garmin Navionics Vision+) and how you receive it (preloaded microSD/SD card vs download for installation to a microSD/SD card). All variants cover Norway, Vestfjorden to Svalbard (EU054R).

• 010-C1253-20: Garmin Navionics+ in microSD/SD format. This comes on a physical card that is inserted into the chartplotter’s card slot.
• 010-D1855-20: Garmin Navionics+ in download format. This is installed to a microSD/SD card using Garmin Express before using the card in the chartplotter.
• 010-C1253-00: Garmin Navionics Vision+ in microSD/SD format. This adds extra visual layers such as high-resolution relief shading, 3D views, and imagery overlays when supported.
• 010-D1855-00: Garmin Navionics Vision+ in download format. This is installed to a microSD/SD card using Garmin Express and includes the Vision+ visual layers when supported.

Installation and setup

For the microSD/SD version, insert the card into the chartplotter and allow a moment for it to index and display the new region. For the download version, the chart content is written to a microSD/SD card using Garmin Express on a computer, then the card is moved to the chartplotter.

These chart formats are meant for compatible Garmin chartplotters. Feature availability can vary by chartplotter model, especially for premium visual layers and routing functions, so the safest approach is to confirm your specific unit supports Garmin Navionics+ and Garmin Navionics Vision+ before purchase.

Updating and subscription

A one-year subscription is included and allows access to daily chart updates during the subscription period. Updates are handled through the ActiveCaptain app on compatible setups, and renewing the subscription keeps update access active after the first year.
