Overview
The Perko 077700299A is a replacement size #2 cam bar for Perko's rectangular flange flush hatch dog. It is used on the Fig. 0777 hatch dog range, and the matching size #2 setup works within a 1-1/4 in. to 2 in. cam bar adjustment range.
This is the cam bar only, not the complete hatch dog assembly. It is the working piece that bears against the underside of the hatch structure when the dog is turned, so the correct size matters if you want the latch to close cleanly and hold the hatch down without excess play.
Key features
- Replacement cam bar for Perko rectangular flange flush hatch dog, size #2
- Matches the spare part application for Perko Fig. 0777 rectangular flange flush hatch dogs
- Used with hatch dog setups that adjust from 1-1/4 in. to 2 in.
- Fits repair work where the original cam bar is worn, bent, or missing and the rest of the hatch dog can remain in service
- Made for the hatch dog mechanism, not a complete latch, lock, or hatch fastening assembly
Compatibility and fit
Check the hatch dog style and cam bar size before ordering. Perko lists separate spare cam bars for size #0, size #1, and size #2, and this part is the size #2 version for the rectangular flange flush hatch dog.
That distinction matters on a boat because the cam bar length affects how the latch lands on the strike and how far the hatch is pulled down. If your hardware uses a different flange style or a different cam bar size, the mechanism may not seat correctly even if the top side hardware looks similar.
Installation and setup
Before fitting the new cam bar, inspect the rest of the hatch dog assembly for wear at the shaft, strike, and lock nuts. A hatch that still rattles or does not draw down evenly after replacement often has wear elsewhere in the mechanism or compression loss at the hatch seal.
Once installed, cycle the dog through its full travel and confirm the bar clears nearby structure, lands squarely, and pulls the hatch down without binding. That check is worth doing on exposed deck hatches where salt, vibration, and repeated traffic can make a small alignment issue more noticeable over time.
