Overview
The Garmin 010-11654-05 is a set of anti-glare screen protectors made for Garmin Montana handheld GPS units, helping the display stay readable in bright sun while adding a sacrificial layer against fingerprints and scratches.
On a boat, a Montana often gets handled with damp hands and ends up in places like the helm, cockpit, or a grab bag where grit and hardware can scuff the screen. These protectors are a simple way to keep the touchscreen surface cleaner and reduce glare when the sun is bouncing off the water.
The pack includes 3 protectors, so you can replace one after it gets worn, scratched, or nicked during storage and transport.
Key features
- Anti-glare film helps cut screen washout in direct sunlight at the helm or on deck
- Helps reduce fingerprint smudges from frequent touchscreen use
- Adds scratch protection against grit, sand, and rubbing inside a case or console
- Made to match Garmin Montana handheld GPS screen size for a cleaner fit
- Includes 3 protectors in the package for spares and replacements
What’s included
- 3 anti-glare screen protectors
Compatibility and fit
This set is intended for Garmin Montana handhelds in the Montana 600/610/650/680 family, including “t” and camo variants. Match the model name shown on the unit (or in its settings menu) before ordering, since other Montana generations use different screen sizes.
Installation and setup
Apply the protector in a clean, low-dust area. Wipe the screen until it is completely free of salt residue, sunscreen, and lint, then dry it so the adhesive can bond evenly.
Line up the protector carefully before it touches the screen. Once the edge is set, work across the display with steady pressure to push out trapped air. If you see a bubble, lift that edge slightly and re-seat it rather than forcing it flat over debris.
Use on board
This is a practical add-on for boaters who use a Montana as a backup navigator, a tender or kayak GPS, or a handheld for fishing and coastal exploring where sunlight glare makes the display harder to read. It is also helpful for crews who pass the unit around and want the screen to stay cleaner between quick position checks.
Maintenance and care
Rinse and wipe the unit with fresh water after salty runs, then dry with a soft cloth to avoid grinding salt crystals into the surface. If the protector becomes heavily scratched or starts lifting at an edge, replace it to keep the screen easy to read and protect the original display underneath.
