Overview
This Blue Sea Systems DC circuit breaker panel range is made for organizing and protecting low-voltage DC branch circuits on boats, with configurations that cover compact four-position layouts, larger distribution panels, and main-plus-branch arrangements. The range includes 360 Panel System models for 12V DC installations and Traditional Metal DC Panel models rated for 12V DC and 24V DC systems.
These panels give installers a cleaner way to route power from a higher-amperage feed into protected DC circuits for cabin loads, electronics, pumps, lighting, refrigeration, and other onboard equipment. Depending on the configuration, panels are available with 4, 5, 8, 10, 12, 13, 16, or 19+Main positions, with maximum amperage ratings listed at 100A or 100A per bus on the applicable layouts.
The 360 Panel System versions use installed 15A A-Series flat rocker circuit breakers and include the square-format DC label set. The Traditional Metal DC Panel versions are fully pre-wired with positive, negative, and grounding buses, include backlit circuit label positions, and use ON-indicating LEDs in the circuit positions.
Key features
- DC circuit breaker panel range for boat electrical distribution, branch circuit switching, and circuit protection.
- Available in 360 Panel System and Traditional Metal DC Panel configurations to match different helm, cabin, and distribution panel layouts.
- Position counts span compact and larger systems, including 4, 5, 8, 10, 12, 13, 16, and 19+Main layouts.
- 360 Panel System models are rated for 12V DC service and use installed 15A A-Series flat rocker circuit breakers.
- Traditional Metal DC Panel models support 12V DC and 24V DC installations, useful when matching older panels or mixed-voltage DC systems.
- Selected configurations include a DC digital multi-function meter with alarm, giving the panel direct system monitoring capability where specified.
- Backlit labels and ON-indicating LEDs on applicable panels make circuit status easier to read at the helm, nav station, or cabin panel in low light.
- Panel formats include vertical, horizontal, and non-format-specific layouts for different mounting spaces and retrofit openings.
Variants
This range is offered in multiple configurations. The main differences are the panel family, the number of circuit positions, and the panel format. The 360 Panel System variants are 12V DC panels, while the Traditional Metal DC Panel variants are listed for 12V DC and 24V DC use.
The 360 Panel System options cover 4, 8, 12, 16, and 19+Main position layouts in vertical, horizontal, or non-format-specific formats. The Traditional Metal DC Panel options cover 5, 10, and 13 position layouts for installations where a metal DC panel style is preferred or where an older panel is being extended or replaced.
Installation and setup
Before ordering, match the panel family, position count, and format to the available mounting space and the number of DC loads on the boat. A smaller panel can suit a focused equipment group such as lighting or electronics, while higher-position panels are more appropriate for main cabin distribution, helm upgrades, or larger refits where multiple branch circuits need to be brought into one organized location.
The position count should allow for the circuits installed now and any planned additions, such as extra electronics, pumps, fans, USB charging, or lighting zones. Leave enough clearance behind the mounting area for breaker depth, bus connections, cable bends, and service access after installation.
Electrical and system integration
Use the panel within the voltage and amperage rating of the selected configuration. The 360 Panel System variants in this range are for 12V DC systems, while the Traditional Metal DC Panel variants are suitable for 12V DC and 24V DC systems. The feed conductors, upstream protection, and branch circuit wiring should be sized for the connected loads and the installation method used on the vessel.
These panels are a practical match for boat owners and installers replacing an aging DC distribution panel, adding a dedicated branch panel for new equipment, or cleaning up a system where accessories have been added over time without a consistent panel layout.
