Overview

The Jabsco 29280-0000 is a hand-operated Amazon Warrior manual bilge pump for boats that need a serious manual dewatering setup. It connects to 38 mm (1-1/2") hose, uses a solid 18" (46 cm) handle, and is rated for outputs up to 30 gpm. It is used to clear standing bilge water and can also be used for toilet waste discharge from holding tanks.

This pump mounts on deck, and it can also be installed through deck with the optional through-deck kit and bracket. The alloy body and double diaphragm layout matter when a crew may need to keep pumping under load, because each side of the pump can operate independently.

Installation and fit

The 38 mm hose size makes this a better match for boats already set up with larger suction and discharge runs, so it is worth checking hose diameter, through-hull size, and the space needed for the full handle stroke before ordering. For bilge service, the suction pickup should sit in the lowest part of the bilge and the overboard discharge should remain above the waterline in all running and heeled conditions.

Through-deck installation requires the separate through-deck kit. Hose runs work best when they stay short and straight, using smooth-bore reinforced hose with secure stainless hose clips at each connection. Leave clear access to the pump chamber and the inlet and outlet valves so blockages can be cleared without pulling the whole installation apart.
