Overview

This JL Audio white 6-conductor multifunction cable is a single jacketed run that carries both speaker wire and illumination power for JL Audio speakers and subwoofers with LED lighting. Inside the cable are two 16 AWG oxygen-free copper speaker leads plus four 20 AWG leads intended for the illumination circuit, which helps keep installs cleaner when you are routing through a hardtop leg, wake tower, or rigging tube.

The conductors are stannum-plated for corrosion resistance, and the fine-strand construction stays flexible when you have to work around tight bends. It is offered in 25 ft (7.62 m) and 250 ft (76.2 m) lengths, covering anything from a short cockpit run to a full custom rewire.

The conductor count and wire gauges stay the same across the options. The difference is the supplied length and whether you are working from a ready-to-run cut length or a bulk spool for custom cuts.

• 010-13422-00: Length 25 ft (7.62 m). Common for shorter runs on smaller boats where the amp and lighting controls sit relatively close to the speaker locations.
• 010-13423-00: Length 250 ft (76.2 m). Bulk spool for custom installs where you are cutting multiple runs to length and pulling wiring through long rigging paths.

Installation and setup

Plan your routing before you pull cable, and avoid running speaker conductors alongside high-current power cabling for long distances when you can. Leave a little service loop at the amp end and at each speaker so future service does not turn into a rewire.

Because this combines speaker conductors and illumination conductors, label the four 20 AWG leads at both ends before terminating. Keep the illumination circuit protected with appropriate circuit protection for your lighting controller or switch, separate from any amplifier protection.

Compatibility and fit

This cable is intended for JL Audio marine speakers and subwoofers that use separate wiring for LED illumination, letting you bring audio and lighting to the same location without multiple cable pulls. It can also be used anywhere you need a clean 6-conductor pull with two heavier conductors for speaker output and four smaller conductors for low-current accessories.

This makes sense on boats where speakers live on a hardtop, wake tower, or transom and the amplifier and lighting controls are mounted inside a console, cabin, or equipment locker.
