Overview

The Lumitec Moray Flex Strip Light is a Spectrum RGBW flex strip with an internal driver and color controller, so it can run from a simple 2-wire 12V DC feed without an external driver.

It supports white light at 5000K with CRI 80+ along with full-color output. Basic dimming and color functions can be handled at the switch using timed on/off toggles, and it can also be controlled through the Lumitec Poco digital lighting control ecosystem.

The strip is sealed to an IP67 rating and has a 0.65 in by 0.65 in profile. Output and draw scale with length, ranging from about 113 lumens and 4.1 W at 1.5 ft up to 900 lumens and 33 W at 12 ft.

Variants

Moray Flex is offered in multiple fixed lengths, and the primary difference across the range is the length of the strip.

Available sizes are 1.5 ft, 3 ft, 4.5 ft, 6 ft, 7.5 ft, 9 ft, 10.5 ft, and 12 ft. Since the strip is sealed and must not be cut, selecting the right length matters for both fit and overall light output.

Installation and setup

Lay out the run so the strip can follow the mounting surface without tight turns. Keep bends gentle, maintain at least a 4.75 in (120 mm) bend diameter, and bend only in the intended orientation.

Wire red to +12V DC and black to negative or ground on a protected circuit with an appropriately sized fuse or breaker. When using switch control, the timed toggle functions rely on quick off/on toggles at the power switch.

Compatibility and fit

This strip is for 12V DC boats and requires a +12V supply. The 0.65 in square profile helps it fit behind trim and in narrow channels, including under-gunnel edges, cockpit seating recesses, cabin coves, and locker interiors.

Use on board

It fits well as accent and courtesy lighting where you want clean white for tasks along with color for atmosphere, such as cockpit coamings, hardtop overhangs, cabin toe-kicks, and companionway steps. It is a strong match for boats that need RGBW control without making room for an external driver, and for setups that already use Poco control.

Maintenance and care

Wipe the housing with mild soap and water as needed. Avoid solvents and avoid nicking the jacket, since damage to the sealed body can compromise water resistance.
