This box is suitable only for Classica cover plates, so it is meant for installs where you are building out a Vimar Idea/Classica module group on a flat surface like a nav desk, inside a console top, or on cabin furniture where a flush box is not practical.

With an IP20 rating, it is intended for interior and sheltered locations onboard. It is not a sealed enclosure, so it should be kept away from direct spray, washdowns, and dripping lockers.

Confirm your device layout is a 6-module build and that you are using the correct Classica cover plate format, since this housing is specified for Classica plates only. The overall body size (121.60 mm x 110.80 mm) and the 77.40 mm depth are the key checks when you are fitting it on a table edge, console shelf, or inside a furniture panel where wiring needs room to bend without being pinched.

This is a mechanical enclosure, so it does not set electrical ratings by itself. Match the modules you plan to install to your onboard system (12V DC, 24V DC, or AC) and to the circuit protection you are using.

Installation and setup

Plan the cable route first, then bring the feed in through the cable entry and secure it with the built-in cord-grip so movement of the wire does not transfer to the terminals. On boats, supporting the cable run near the box helps reduce vibration stress over time.

Because IP20 is meant for protected locations, place the box where it will not see spray or frequent wet cleaning, such as in the cabin, at the chart table, or inside a sheltered helm console.
