Overview
This Garmin flying lead for the Spectra LED lighting control module is a connector lead used to wire the module to either vessel power or a compatible LED light, depending on the version. The power lead supports 12 V or 24 V DC input, and the LED lead connects a compatible LED light with up to 2 A per output.
Both versions use water-resistant connectors, which helps when the control module is mounted behind a helm, inside a console, or in other spots that see moisture and vibration. It also keeps the installation serviceable since you can disconnect the lead at the connector instead of cutting and re-splicing wires later.
Key features
- Made for Garmin Spectra LED lighting control modules, with leads for either the power side or the LED output side
- Power lead supports 12 V and 24 V DC systems for common marine electrical setups
- LED lead connects a compatible LED light and supports up to 2 A per output
- Water-resistant connector style helps protect the connection in damp consoles and lockers
- Connector-based wiring keeps troubleshooting and future service simpler than hard splices
Variants
This product is offered in multiple configurations so you can match the lead to the part of the Spectra lighting system you are wiring.
The function changes between variants (power input vs LED light output), along with the connector style used on the lead.
- 010-13286-01 - Function: Power. This lead connects the Spectra LED lighting control module to vessel power and supports 12 V or 24 V DC input using a water-resistant 3-way connector.
- 010-13286-02 - Function: LED. This lead connects the Spectra LED lighting control module to a compatible LED light and supports up to 2 A per output using a water-resistant 6-way connector.
Compatibility and fit
These flying leads are intended for Garmin Spectra LED lighting control modules. Confirm you are working with a Spectra control module and that you need the correct lead type for the connection you are making (power in versus an LED light output).
Installation and setup
Plan the cable route so the connector lands where it stays accessible and is not sitting in standing water. Support the wiring so it cannot rub on sharp edges, and leave enough slack at the connector to unplug the lead for service without stressing the conductors.
Electrical and system integration
On the power lead, connect to an appropriately protected DC feed and verify system voltage (12 V or 24 V) before energizing the lighting module. On the LED lead, match the connected light to the controller output and keep the load within the 2 A per output limit.
Use cases on board
This is a practical fit for refits and new installs where a Spectra control module is mounted in a console and the wiring needs to stay neat and serviceable. It also suits boats that run in saltwater where connectors routinely see spray or damp air, as long as the connection is mounted and supported properly.
Maintenance and care
Check the connector area occasionally for moisture intrusion, corrosion, or looseness, especially after heavy washdowns or rough runs. If the connection is exposed to salt spray, a quick fresh-water rinse and dry-down around the connector area helps keep the install tidy over time.
